WGQ, REQ, and RGQ: Trading Partner Agreement: R04017
PPLSolutions offers the following comments on R04017:
1)PPLSolutions supports the concept of a standard Trading Partner Agreement as a process efficiency improvement in energy markets.
2)Section 2.3.7 – add the phrase “other mutually agreed to” before “response document”. The revised sentence would then read, “If the sending party of a Document has not received a corresponding functional acknowledgment or other mutually agreed to response document within the time frame indicated in the Exhibit(s), the sending party shall retransmit the Document and such Document shall be considered a new transmission for purposes of Section 2.” We agree that the sending party should be responsible to monitor for functional acknowledgements to their transmissions. We are unsure what other “response documents” would merit this treatment and therefore would like to reiterate that this is by mutual agreement as stated in section 2.3.4.
3)Exhibit ___ ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE TRADING PARTNER AGREEMENT
Page 1 – Provide fields for Third Party Technical and Business contact information. These fields will allow for smoother communications between Trading Partners where one or both use third party EDI providers.
Page 2 – PPLSolutions recommends a change in format for this information. The proposed format and content are shown on the following pages. We have used many formats for this information and find this format to be the easiest to use.
Page 3 – The purpose of this page is not clear. Please add descriptions of the intended use of this information. It seems to infer that the enveloping is, or could be, different by transaction.
