SUMMARY

The Target Storeon 200 Westminster Mall in Westminster, CA was inspected by TomBranham of Elevator Consulting Services, Inc. on January16th, 2014. My QEI number is 1339 and am certified by NAESA. NAESA is the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities. We have identified corrective items that in our opinion need to be addressed by installer. They are free to offer an explanation or dispute any individual item within the report but we can offer a reasonable reason for each and every negative evaluation. They are evaluated on and for the ASME 17.2 Code for Inspectors Manual and industry standards for acceptable installation and maintenance procedures.

4.Replace the top left (OLI) main rail shoe insert is worn almost to the cap. The car is starting to shimmy in up direction. Lube rails as needed.

5.Flush the 1st floor hoistway door chains with WD-40. Clean all the metal filings off the chains. Monitor the door motor sheave. Wipe off excess.

6.Adjust leveling, goes through floor in down direction with no re-level. Plus the car is racked by 1/2, which makes it worse, or re-jack platform so it is level..

RECOMMENDATIONS

Escalators

  1. Need a curve angle at the bottom right hand floor area to prevent stop button from shearing off.

Freights

  1. Remove the safety edge (has scanner) and replace it with a solid 1” rubber piece to cut down callbacks.

Passenger

  1. Install the “Prevention bar” over the phone button to eliminate accidental activation.
