Dear Resident,
The City of Ottawa invites you to attend a Public Information Session for an update on the West Transitway Extension (Bayshore Station to Moodie Drive) project.
WHY:To improve transit service reliability, the City has developed a plan to extend the West Transitway from Bayshore Station to Moodie Drive. This plan received provincial environmental assessment (EA) approval in 2012. Recently,as part of the detailed design, City staff have identified the potential to reduce the current construction costs by revising the approach for the Transitway extension near Moodie Drive. This recommendation will be presented to Council for approval.
WHAT:The Public Information Session will allow residents to learn about the proposed revisions.
The revised implementation plan includes the extension of the West Transitway from west of Holly Acres Road to Moodie Drive and a new transit station near Corkstown Road (east of Moodie Drive).
At the Public Information Session, residents will be able to review the proposed revisions to the implementation strategy, background reports and the proposed design plans, and ask questions. Representatives from the City, the consulting team and the Ward Councillor will be available to discuss the project with you.
WHEN:Construction on this project is currently planned to begin in late 2015and is estimated to be ready for use in late 2017.
WHERE:This project will occur immediately north of the Highway 417 westbound lanes, from west of Holly Acres Road to Moodie Drive.
