Introduction

¡Felicidades! Congratulations! Your team has been selected by the top advertising agency in Latin America to prepare an eye-catching menu for a new restaurant. The owner of the restaurant is a very well-known and prestigious restaurateur. If your menu design is accepted, you will receive a very big bonus – your design team gets part ownership of the new restaurant.

Task

You and your group will develop an authentic, artistic menu in Spanish for the new restaurant. Go to the PROCESSsection and start to develop a winning team!

Process

  1. Decide as a team what country your Restaurant will be located in.
Your team must first decide what country your restaurant will be located in. Please choose a Spanish-speaking country. This will also determine which currency will be displayed on your menu. The country and its currency will be listed on your team’s ROUGHDRAFT.
  1. Develop a menu.
Research several websites to find some really great food items in at least 6 food categories. The food items must be appropriate for an up-scale Spanish restaurant. You must have AT LEAST 3 items in each food category on the menu. You will also determine a suitable price in U.S. dollars and local currency. All items must be listed on your team’s ROUGH DRAFTso the best information is chosen for the final menu. BE CAREFUL WHEN RECORDING COSTS IN VARIOUS CURRENCIES. Sites to view:

  1. CREATE A COVER DESIGN
You will need to develop art that is appropriate for the type of restaurant that your group has chosen. Is it formal/informal? Is it expensive/inexpensive? These decisions will affect the type of cover art you design.
