Waterworks District No. 2, Parish of Beauregard
MINUTES
The Board of Commissioners met in a regular session held in the office of the Waterworks District No. 2, Parish of Beauregard on August 14, 2017@ 6:00 p.m.
The Board of Commissioners was duly convened as the governing authority of said district by President Jerry Cooley, who then stated that the Board was ready for the transaction of business at 6:00 pm, with a quorum being present.
Roll Call: The roll was call by President Jerry Cooley and the following Commissioners were present:
Mr. Jerry Cooley, Mr. Billy White, Mr. Caroll Johnson, Mrs. Jeanez McLeod, and Mrs. Delores Franks
Absent: 0
Others Present:Kathy Sonnier-IRG and Richard McElhatten, Jr-Dethloff & Associate, Inc., and Andrew Mattingly- Myers & Associates.
Public Participation: There was no public participation
Approval of Minutes:
Mrs. Delores Franks, with a 2nd by Mrs. Jeanez McLeodmoved to adopt the Minutes of theJuly 10, 2017 meeting and to forego the reading thereof, the motion carried without opposition.
Approval of Financial reports:
Mr. Billy White, with a 2nd by Mr. Caroll Johnson moved to adopt the financial reports as written for
July 2017, the motion carried without opposition.
Payment authorization:
Mrs. Jeanez McLeod, with a 2nd by Mrs. Delores Frank,moved to pay monthly invoices for August 2017, the motion carried without opposition.
New Business:
- Kathy Sonnier- Insurance Resource Group discussed that at the present time we did not have a BCBS representative, that the one we had retired.
Mr. Billy White, 2nd by Mrs. Jeanez McLeod, moved to accept Kathy Sonnier, representative of Insurance Resource Group as the new representative for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance, the motion carried without opposition.
- Richard McElhatten- Dethloff & Associates, Inc gave a presentation discussing our present company insurance coverage.
The Board of Commissioners requested a special meeting to discuss the present insurance and to acquire a quote from Mr. McElhatten.
- Mr. Billy White, 2nd by Mr. Caroll Johnson, moved to increase the budget for $133,000 to compensate for the change orders on the LCDBG Project for Oretta, the motion carried without opposition.
Mr. Billy White, 2nd by Mrs. Jeanez McLeod, moved to increase the NSF from $25 to $35,
the motion carried without opposition.
Mr. Caroll Johnson, 2nd by Mrs. Jeanez McLeod, moved to adopt the annual maintenance contract for the MRX920 in the amount of $1,000, the motion carried without opposition.
Unfinished Business:
Mrs. Jeanez McLeod, 2nd by Mrs. Delores Franks, moved to have the new flyers printed by Port Printing of Lake Charles, the motion carried without opposition.
Maintenance Report: Jeremy Joffrion
Mrs. Delores Franks, 2nd by Mr. Caroll Johnson, moved to purchase supplies for the maintenance Department, the motion carried without opposition.
Secretary Report: Patricia Davis
The Board of Commissioners discuss the request by Vision Industrial to only pay half of the $2,217.94 and the Board unanimously agreed that Vision Industrial is required to pay the amount in full, no partial payment shall be accepted.
