MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking to gain experience of fundraising and/or working in the charity sector. The role will give you hands-on experience and training on all aspects of fundraising from Trusts and Foundations. This will include researching new and existing prospects, working with project staff, formulating appropriate approaches, and managing and tracking relationships with funders and prospective funders. Trusts and Foundations are a key focus of Nicodemus’ income generation strategy - an area that has been identified as having huge potential for growth. Working in our Partnership and Development team you will receive a thorough induction and ongoing supervision to gain knowledge of the Voluntary and Community sector. The team are responsible for securing funds to help support and grow our work in Guatemala and the UK.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Implementation of activity plan to develop relationships with Trusts and Foundations
  • Conducting thorough research to identify new avenues of potential funding
  • Telephoning prospective donors to build relationships
  • Liaising with staff to gather information and statistics on Nicodemus’ projects
  • Drafting and submitting project proposals and reports
  • Coordinating mailings to new and existing donors
  • Maintaining the Donor Perfect database, files and handling administration
  • Thanking and acknowledging donations within an appropriate timeframe.
  • Keeping full financial records and coordinating allocation of donations with the finance team
