TRIP OVERVIEW: Troop 200 is going to the Chickahominy Riverfor Watersports, fishing, kite flying, and other activities! The program will offer scouts the opportunity for fellowship, rank requirements and they will get to experience somehigh adventure and maybe do something they have never seen before.

PLAN: Trailer packing and drivers meeting will be Thursday, 13th August/1830.

- SHOW time is Friday, 14th Aug/1800 in Field Uniform with Activity Uniform underneath. Drive time is approximately 1 hour. Vehicle assignments will be made as required. Scouts should eat before arrival.

- RETURN time is Sunday, 16th Aug/1500. After a “Scout Is Reverent” service and Start/Stop/Continue on Sunday morning, the patrol will return to St.Luke’s in Field Uniform. A call will be made to the parents picking up their scout if the time changes more than 15 minutes.

ACTIVITIES: Camping and boating on the Chickahominy River! Boat rides will also be offered for all those with a current Swim Check who want to participate. We will have two different boats with water skies and tubes along. Kayakswill also be available for use. On land, there will be fishing and an open field, so bring a fishing pole and a Frisbee. Schedule will be discussed and finalized at Campout PLC– tentatively scheduled on

Monday, August 10th @ 1800 ***note***---Scouts 16 and over need a freshwater fishing license to fish.

UNIFORM: Field uniform will be worn when traveling. The Activity uniform and/or swimsuits will be worn while boating. Unless you are out on the water, use closed-toe shoes. Bring water shoes if desired. When in doubt – follow the Troop Guidelines! **No camouflage items will be worn when in either uniform**

COST: The total event fee will be $45.00 per Scout to cover vehicle and boat fuel, campsite costsand grub for the weekend - Final payment will be subtracted from Scout Accounts on Monday August 3rd. The "grubmaster" for the patrol should work within his $20.00budget and figure out the cost per Scout for their patrol food – refunds are always possible. Scouts should bring money if they wish to use the golf driving range.

Clubs will be provided by Mr. Brockington. Range balls are $5.00/bucket

FOOD: Patrol will prepare 6 meals: Friday cracker barrel, Sat breakfast, lunch, and dinner,and Sun breakfast and lunch. Your patrol ASM will discuss the meal plan with the PL & grubmaster.

GEAR: Backpacks or duffels for storageare encouraged. Scouts should watch the forecast and pack for the weather and nuisance insects accordingly. Every Scout should be sure to bring enough clothes, full rain gear, sunscreen, swim trunks, beach towel, full Class A, and closed toe shoes.

DIRECTIONS: Take 17N to Ft Eustis Blvd (to avoid traffic) then join I64W to Route 199W (Exit 242A). Follow199W to VA-5W. Travel 8 miles to Campground on the right.

REGISTRATION: Campout SPL will CALLpatrol leaders for initial sign-up numbers. Patrol Leaders should CALL their patrol get their numbers a soon as possible; FINAL MONDAYwill be on August 3rd.

ANNUAL BSA MEDICAL FORM: The updated BSA Medical Form is required. Any special medical information will be collected FRIDAY before departure. Contact Mrs. Wilbert if any questions.

ADULT LEADERS or PARENTS: Luke Hawkins is the campout SPL and Mr. Brockington is theCampout SM for the weekend.
