Transfer Pathway MOA Checklist:
Should a CALS Department desire to create a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for atransfer pathway with another institution, the following steps should be completed (electronic signatures are acceptable).
Please note, that while students following a transfer pathway will be given every consideration, admissions cannot be guaranteed.
Please use the attached Transfer Pathway MOAtemplate.

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT

This MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) is made and entered into by and between [Partnership Institution Name] and Cornell University, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS).
A. Purpose
The purpose of this MOA is to formalize and expand a framework of cooperation between [Partnership Institution Name] and CALS in order to further develop mutually beneficial collaborations and exchanges, as well as to enhance opportunities for students.
B. Articulation
[Partnership Institution] and CALS will continue to work collaboratively to enhance the current transfer agreement between the parties through a department-specific pathway between [Partnership Institution] and Cornell’s [Department Name]. This pathway will allow for a smooth transition for transfer students meeting existing admissions requirements. In addition, highly qualified [Partnership Institution] students who express the goal of transfer to Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences [Major Name] major and have met the CALS transfer requirements will be considered priority applicants during the admission process. Once established, both institutions will reference these transfer agreements on their department websites, and as practicable, in marketing materials for the program as described below.
Proposed course lists for [Partnership Institution] -Cornell [Department Name] transfer students are given in Appendices 1 and 2. Please note Cornell’s Policy on Course work completed while in high school: "Cornell University does not accept credit for courses sponsored by colleges but taught in high schools to high school students, even if the college provides a transcript of such work." CALS does not accept College Now, Bard early college, SUPA or University in the High School credits.
C. Partnership Marketing
Marketing and public relations professionals from [Partnership Institution Name] and Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will work collaboratively to promote the partnership that exists between the two institutions in marketing materials and in the media. [Partnership Institution Name] agrees to make no use of the Cornell name for fundraising, publicity, advertising, or other commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Cornell in each instance, unless authorized by an approved Communication Plan. Cornell agrees to make no use of the [Partnership Institution Name] name for fundraising, publicity, advertising, or other commercial purposes without the prior written consent of SUNY Broome in each instance, unless authorized by an approved Communication Plan.
D. Modification:
Modifications within the scope of this Memorandum of Agreement shall be made by mutual consent of both parties by the issuance of a written modification, signed and dated by both parties, prior to any changes being in force.
E. Review and Termination:
This agreement expires 4 years after the date of execution. Prior to the termination date, both parties will review and update the agreement, as needed. This agreement may be terminated by either party giving the other party sixty days’ notice.
