Special Holidays

Christmas is a time

to remember the special peoplein our lives…

the thoughtful people

who brighten our days all year through,

the fun-loving people

with whom we share laughter, good times, and fond memories,

the wonderful people

who have touched our lives as few can…

You are truly special people,

and though it’s not often

that these feelings are put into words,

the Christmas seasonjust seems like a good time

to let you knowhow very much you mean.

Happy Holidays!

Haude Faculty and Staff

A big Haude “thank you” goes out to all of our wonderful volunteers for supporting our PTO Write-a-Check fundraiser. We couldn’t have done it without you! Also, a special “thank you” goes to Mrs. Wall, Mrs. Thomas, Michelle Dominique and all of the Haude teachers and staff for all of their support during our fundraiser!

PTO MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Although the PTO Membership Drive has ended, you still have a chance to join the PTO! If you are interested in joining, please contact Shirl Scanlin at . Your student will receive a Haude pen and penant.

MUSIC NEWS

Holiday performances:

The music department is busy getting ready for the holiday season. We have some performances coming up that will get you in the holiday spirit:

  • The Haude Choir will perform their last concert for the holiday season on Tuesday, December 9, 7:00 p.m. in the Haude cafeteria.
  • The Haude 5th graders will perform their winter musical “Dear Santa!” on Tuesday, December 16, 7:00 p.m. in the Haude cafeteria.

Recorders:

All 3rd, 4th and 5th graders need a recorder for music class. We sent out letters at the beginning of the year, but there are still some students who don’t have one. You may purchase one in the front office for $7.00.

FLU FACTS FROM THE HAUDE CLINIC

There are simple things that can be done to keep you, your children and our school community healthy.

  • Keep children home from school if they have a fever of 100 or higher. The Centers for Disease Control and Preventions, as well as the Texas Department of State Health Services recommend that schools exclude students until they are fever free for 24 hours without the aid of fever reducingmedications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol ®) or ibuprofen (Motrin®/Advil®).
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.Make sure you throw dirty tissues away in the trash immediately.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, eyes, and nose.
  • Wash your hands frequently. It is recommended that hands be washed for 15 to 20 seconds. That is about the same time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” twice.
  • When soap and water are not available, alcohol based disposable hand sanitizers may be used.
  • Make sure children get plenty of sleep and physical activity, drink water and eat good food to help them stay healthy.

If you or your child falls into a high-risk group, contact your health care provider to see if a flu shot is available to you.

For additional information on how to protect you and your family during this flu season, visit or the Centers for Disease Control website at

For more information feel free to call your school nurse, Debbie Hall RN at 832-484-5594.

MORNING CARPOOL LINE

If you are dropping your student off in the morning, please enter off of Louetta Road and follow the driveway that runs in front of the cafeteria doors. Since all parents have to follow the one-way exit out, always have your children exit the car by the nearest adult on the sidewalk as this helps keep the line flowing. We also request that you do not park in the front parking lot of our school during carpool times. Backing out of these front parking spaces causes the carpool line to slow down considerably and is also a safety issue for all our walkers and bike riders. Please park in the parking lot by the cafeteria in the morning and enter through that door.

AFTERNOON DISMISSAL TIME

Parents – just a reminder to please be on-time to pick up your students at the end of every school day. All students should be picked up no later than 3:15 p.m. unless there is some kind of emergency situation.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Don’t forget that our Haude Jaguar family is supporting the Ronald McDonald House by collecting the pull tabs from cans. The students in Ms. Hutchinson’s class will collect the tabs monthly from the classrooms and weigh them. The tabs will be taken to our Houston Ronald McDonald House and from there to a recycling center who will give them cash for the tabs based on weight.

CHILI COOK-OFF

The Haude PTO hosted its 2nd Annual Chili Cook-off on November 14, and would like to announce the winners:

First Place - Kelly Dramberger

Second Place - Margaret Bryant

Third Place tie - Joyce Inman and Jennifer Rios

EmbroidMe, 24Hr.Fitness, Eden Cafe, and Service First donated the prizes for the Chili Cook-off. MW Cleaners donated gift cards for the "guest" judges and Lisa Hufschmidt with The Woodlands Healthcare Center donated the dessert.

Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers that contributed to our luncheon.

Haude Party Food, Favor and Gift Policy - The KISD Student Handbook (page 37) states, “The principal will designate three“special event days” per year. Definite plans will be sent out by the individual principal on each campus. The school district’s food service department will provide the refreshments for the parties.” The Haude PTO pays for the refreshments provided through our food service department at our Christmas and Valentine’s Day parties. The Haude staff, PTO and administrators feel this is fair for all of our students. Please do not send any food items, favors, or gifts on these two party days. The third special event is our Fifth Grade Appreciation Day in June.

The Klein ISD offers a smartphone app!The current version of the app includes district news, Parent Connection, calendars, a district directory, notifications, transportation information, School Cash Online and more. Throughout the year, the app will grow with more features and more services that will be useful to the community, parents and district employees. On your smartphone, go to either the Apple App Store or Google Play on Android phones and search for Klein ISD. Download the app with the district logo.
