Dear Parent,

As the beginning of the school year is approaches, we want to extend a warm welcome to let you know that Chartwells School Dining Services is proud to announce that we will be serving a variety of new menus and programs for the coming school yeardesigned specifically for the Rose Tree Media School District students.With great tasting healthy new foods, menu apps and fresh and local produce on the menu, it is sure to be an exciting year in the cafeteria!

Our chef’s and dietitians have cooked up a freshly inspired menu that includes a wide array of healthy

and fresh options.Throughout the year, we will hold chef led taste testing and nutrition tables in all the cafeterias so that all students can be exposed to some new (and not new) exciting flavors of our menus.

Full menus will literally be in the hands of students and parents this fall through Nutrislice, an exclusive partner of Chartwells K12. Nutrislice works with Chartwells proprietary and FDA-approved Webtrition menu planning program to make the Rose Tree Media School District menus available online through smartphones, email and the school district website The program resources include recipe descriptions, original photos, nutrition and allergy information which are all available in a variety of languages.

Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to learn about healthier food options through fun and engaging activities that we have planned in the school cafeteria through our Simply Good program. The program contains monthly materials for students of all ages. We use the materials to highlight fruits and vegetables that are on our menus, and will feature Chef Tables in the schools that include food samples, recipes, activities and nutrition information.

Other Monthly features will include Breakfast and Lunch Specials, Sandwich Features, A la Carte Features (High School only), and Beverage Features.

Milk is included with all meals. All varieties (1% low fat white, nonfat white, chocolate and strawberry) in 8 oz. plastic bottles are $.50 when purchased separately.
