American Education Services—Education Planner

This website allows for students and parents to develop and plan their journey to and through secondary and higher education. This site includes a glossary of terminology one will see when applying for college, financial aid, etc, dos and don’ts for college applications, and various checklists.

CollegeBoard—College Admissions, PSAT, SAT, and University and College Search Tool

This site provides information on planning, researching, and applying to colleges and

universities, and how to pay for college. In addition, registration information, dates,

and deadlines for the PSAT, SAT, SAT subject exams, and AP exams are available.

Scholarship information is also offered. This site is a great resource for both students

and parents when exploring all options for higher education.

SallieMae—College Answer

This website provides information on preparing for, selecting, and applying to the

the colleges and universities of your choice. In addition to these resources,

SallieMae also provides information on how to pay for and finance your education.

Financial Aid resources and scholarship information and searches are readily

available.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

This site provides you with information on how to apply for federal student aid,

dates, deadlines, and provides the appropriate forms to apply for aid. You can also

apply for federal student aid on the FAFSA website and submit your completed

application electronically. This helps you pay for college through receiving

subsidized and unsubsidized student, Parent PLUS, and Stafford loans.

This website provides students and parents with information on college applications,

education resources. Students can also apply to and submit their applications for

University of North Carolina Institutions Online (Distance Learning)

This site provides information on the UNC online education programs. There are

descriptions of 240 online programs in 22 fields of study that are offered. In addition,

there is contact, application, admission, and tuition and fee information for 16

different locations.

North Carolina Community Colleges

This website will aid in researching over 58 institutions in North Carolina, which includes finding community colleges, degree programs, distance learning, and links to public agencies, professional associations and non-profit organizations directly involved with North Carolina's Community Colleges.
