The Minutes of Ects Label Application Meeting on 30 January 2013

THE MINUTES OF ECTS LABEL APPLICATION MEETING ON 30 JANUARY 2013

The following decisions have been taken in the meeting of 30 January 2013 on Wednesday conducted by the Rector Prof. Dr. Burhanettin UYSAL in the senate meeting room.

1)Until ECTS Label Application process is completed, weekly assessment meetings with deans, directors, BEK and other participants will be conducted, and the decisions taken will be published on university Bologna web page in Turkish and English.

2)Until ECTS Label Application process is completed, Faculty/Vocational School/Institute boards and Department boards will continue to debate ECTS Label application in their meetings, and the decisions will be transmitted to all participants on the departmental web page in Turkish and English.

3)To achieve the student involvement in the process, relevant student representatives will be given chance to express their views in all meetings.

4)External stakeholders such as relevant non-governmental organizations and labour markets will be invited to ECTS Label Application meeting, and advisory boards will be formed to discuss ECTS Label Application process.

5)To enable the active involvement of students and employees in the process, the results of the following surveys have been carried out since 2008

a) Student Course Evaluation Survey

b) Student Management Evaluation Survey

c) Student Workload Evaluation Survey

d) Employee Management Evaluation Survey

These surveys should be made accessible, and necessary software should be prepared to compare and contrast these results with that of previous ones.

6) Web pages of all units should be standardized to make them easily accessible. In this aimnecessary coordination with the directory of IT department and periodical checks should bemade by the relevant unit.

7) The next level of ECTS label application process is accreditation and external auditing of the university. Therefore, it is necessary that the studies and the infrastructure should be planned to implement the aims. In all studies it is suggested that transparency, accountability, competence strength, uniqueness, a dynamic structure, stakeholder involvement and satisfaction, efficient use of resources, alumni success in business, internal check, internal control, external check, risk management, quality assurance, accreditation and recognisability process and terms should be considered.

8) Report options should be increased to analyse all the data in the ECTS information package database, which will minimize probable mistakes for an efficient process. For the efficient process, these should be sent to IT department coordinator before the weekly assessment meetings.

9) It is advised to encourage students for studying the titles such as ADEK, BEK, Total quality management, Management Decision support systems.
