Dear Parents/Guardians,

Following six successful trips we are offering the opportunity for your daughter/son to take part in our Y9-13 Ski Trip Feb 2017 to Alped’Huez, France. The trip will give your daughter/son the chance to learn/develop a new skill as well as use their language skills learned at school to communicate enFrançais.

If you would like your daughter/son to take part, please complete the attached form and return with a cheque, made payable to “The Maelor School” for £150 by Thu 7h Jan 2016(this will form part of your non-refundable deposit, £250 in total). Future payments will need to be made at regular intervals prior to departure (£100 by Wed 3rd Feb 2016, £250 by Wed 13th Apr, £250 by Wed 15th Jun & £245/£270 by Wed 14th Sept) .

Our trip is based on an initial allocation of 32 places. If by Thu 7th Jan 2016 demand exceeds supply, places will be allocated firstly to pupils in Y12/13 (academic year 2016/2017), then through a ballot for pupils in Y10/11 (academic year 2016/2017). Any remaining places will be balloted for pupils in Y9 (academic year 2016/2017).The is a possibility of places being increased if there is sufficient demand.

Payments will be returned for any students not accepted on to the trip.

Pupils will only be accepted onto this trip if they have a good behavioural record at school and continue to have so in the run up to the trip. Pupils need to ensure that their pathways records are of a high standard and pupils will forfeit their place (and their deposit) if we consider their behaviour and effort in school to be unacceptable.

Deposits received after Jan 7th 2016 will only be accepted if places are available.

Insurance

A full copy of the insurance policy and a Key Facts document are on our web site It is important that all members of the Party read and understand what cover is being provided. If the cover does not meet your needs there is a ‘cooling off’ period of 14 days during which you may cancel the insurance. The policy also contains a Complaints Procedure. Skibound is an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited, who with the Insurers ETI are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Safety Management System

SkiBound is a Full Member of the School Travel Forum. The STF is a group of leading school tour operators who promote good practice and safety in school travel. All Full Members of the STF adhere to a rigorous Code of Practice and Safety Management Standards which meet the requirements of DfES guidelines and are externally verified each year by suitably qualified independent Health and Safety professionals.
