Two popular authors of women's fiction will headline the kickoff event for "Mom's Night Out," a free three-part series launching next week at the White Plains Public Library.

The series, presented by RoleMommy.com and sponsored by the White Plains Public Library Foundation, begins Jan. 23 with "Books We Love," featuring Jane Green ("Straight Talking"), Gwendolen Gross ("The Other Mother"), and Pamela Dorman of New Rochelle, one of the founding editors of Voice, a Hyperion imprint geared to women 35 and older.

Panelists will talk about their careers and offer strategies for breaking into publishing. The talk will be moderated by Beth Feldman of New Rochelle, creator of RoleMommy.com and co-author with Yvette Corporan of "Peeing in Peace: Tales & Tips for Type A Moms."

The series, says Feldman, reflects the mission of RoleMommy.com, a Web site that offers women a place to share their stories as they juggle the demands of work and parenting.

She's hoping the "Mom's Night Out" events will attract women in all stages of their lives.

"Certainly new moms are looking for things, but what's really nice is that this a program for women of all ages," says Feldman. "You can reinvent at any age."

On Feb. 27, the series continues with "Moms of Reinvention," featuring local mothers who've left behind the corporate world to launch new careers. Speakers will include Annabel Monaghan and Elisabeth Wolfe, the Rye authors of "Click! The Girl's Guide to Knowing What You Want and Making It Happen"; Nina Restieri, the creator of momAgenda, a Web site and day planner; and Edgemont career coach Elena Kaspi.

The series concludes March 26 with "Fit for Life," featuring Scarsdale nutritionist Toby Amidor, who runs the Web site DietTV; personal trainer Susan Stivola of White Plains; weight-loss coach Janice Taylor, author and illustrator of "Our Lady of Weight Loss: Miraculous and Motivational Musings from the Patron Saint of Permanent Fat Removal"; and Keri Glassman, author of "The Snack Factor Diet."

All events run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave., White Plains. Refreshments and admission are free. Books will be available for sale at each event; visitors may bring books from home to be signed by the authors.

Space is limited; advance registration is required.

To register, go to send an e-mail to Beth Feldman () or call the library at 914-422-1400.
