Machined Fittings

  1. Reference dimensions are to be interpreted as an approximate measure derived from the subtraction or addition of the remaining associated dimensions. The accuracy of the reference dimension is dependant on the part and the specification. If there is a question, please see your supervisor or the quality engineer.
  1. OD and ID Chamfers not specified are to be .020 max.

Engineering

  1. Prints for parts that have not been made in more that 9 years and there is no inventory will be marked “OBSOLETE” when found.

Quality Control

  1. PPAP submissions:
  • HFI forms and format will be used.
  • 2 parts will be measured (unless only 1 is supplied).
  • It is encouraged the parts made by an outside supplier perform and submit the PPAP to HFI.
  • Submission level 2 is default (Warrant, Parts, Drawings and Inspection Results).
  • Submission level 3 PPAP’s contain Warrant, Parts, Drawing, Inspection Results, Process Flow Chart, Control Plan and FMEA.
  • When produced by an outside source,:
  • No Process Chart.
  • No FMEA.
  • Control Plan only shows receiving.
  • MTD PPAP’s require revision level P prints.
  • HFI production parts requires level 3 PPAP with warrant, 2 sample layout parts, layout, control plan, process flow chart, FMEA, and print.
  • Purchased parts requires level 4 PPAP with warrant, 2 sample parts, layout, (purchased) control plan, and print.
  1. Acceptable Quality Levels
  • Final Inspection
  • B4 & B6 AQL 1.5%
  • B5 & Outside Sources AQL 1.5%
  • Hoses & Tubes AQL 4.0%
  • In Process Inspection
  • B3 Hose & B3 Tube AQL 4.0%
  • B5 Assembly AQL 4.0%
