KIND ATTENTION:

HIS EMINENCEOSWALD CARDINAL GRACIAS, ARCHBISHOP OF BOMBAY,

VICE PRESIDENT, CATHOLIC BISHOPS' CONFERENCE OF INDIA

Your Eminence,

In October 2005, when you were the Archbishop of Agra, I had sent you my 96-page report on the New Age in the Catholic Ashrams movementin India,

and you had acknowledged receipt of it.

After that, I did not hear from you your response to the issues that I had raised in that report.

The last 10 pages of that report were onFr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation, showing that both, the priest and his organization, promote New Age.

Now, after intensive research, I have updated the 10-page report on Fr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation to around 100 pages. It is difficult for me to be brief, either in my forthcoming report or in this letter to you, partly because of the extent of the errors being propagated, and partly because Fr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation do not stand alone in their errors.

1a. Fr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation enjoy the full support of the Archdiocese of Bombay:

-Almost every issue of the Archdiocesan weekly, The Examiner, carries information about their activities.

-All their activities are conducted in Catholic institutions. Kripa is "an Archdiocesan project".Fr. Joe Pereira is"consultant to the Archdiocese of Bombay for alcohol and drug abuse".

All details and evidence are in the forthcoming report.

1b. Fr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation enjoy your full support:

-The Examiner, March 7, 2009: ENGAGEMENTS – OSWALD CARDINAL GRACIAS – Wed. March 11, 7:00 pm.

Presides at felicitation of Fr. Joe Pereira (Padma Shree), Mount CarmelChurch ground, Bandra

-The Examiner, March 7, 2009: Felicitation of Fr. Joe Pereira (Padma Shree)Mount Carmel Parish, Bandra, is organizing a felicitation ceremony in honour of Fr. Joe Pereira who has been awarded the Padma Shree by the Government of India. The programme will be held on the church grounds from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday March 11, 2009. His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, will preside. All are welcome.

- BOARD OF TRUSTEES [of which you are the head]

His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Cardinal of Mumbai

1c. There is enough New Age on the Kripa website and blog, an excerpt of which I have sent you on April 20.

Fr. Joe Pereirapromotes Iyengar Yoga. In my 2005 report I have shown that Fr. Joe Pereira himself admits that his master and yoga guruBKS Iyengar's Kundalini Yoga/Tantra Yoga is occultism.

This priestadvocates the "removal of celibacy for priests", and "teaching young priests not to be inhibited with the opposite sex and to acknowledge their sexuality through yoga".

The priest rejects Church teaching on the use of condoms for AIDS prevention.Again, in a report on Inculturation, Fr. Joe Pereira’s statement on the use of contraceptives, ‘Leave the choice of birth control to the conscience of the people’ showsthat he does not accept the Church’s teachings on life.

Very often he brazenly lies as my report shows and he also falsifies Church teaching.

I had written to you in connection with the subject of Fr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation on April 13, April 15 and April 20, 2009, asking you some questions and advising you that “An updated report on this priest and his New Age yoga foundation, and the spiritual errors that they promote in the name of holistic health care, will soon be released”. However, I have not heard from you till the time of my writing again today, after three weeks.

I had also written to the Arch/Bishops of all the 14 other arch/dioceses where Kripa has been institutionalized by the Church, but no Bishop has responded. You must be aware that this will not discourage me from my ministry to create awareness about New Age error and expose it wherever it is propagated in the Church in India.

2a. Fr. Joe Pereira is the Indian coordinator for theWorld Community for Christian Meditation {WCCM}, welcomed there by Ivan Cardinal Dias, and whose headquarters in India is in your Archdiocese of Bombay.

-Almost every issue of the Archdiocesan weekly, The Examiner, carries information about their activities.

-All their activities are conducted in Catholic institutions.

-All their activities are supported by the Bishops of Bombay.

2b. Their “Christian Meditation”is not Christian butHindu-Christian-Buddhist-New Age.

2c. There is hardcoreNew Age on the WCCM website.

2d. The WCCM is closely associated with the Bede Griffiths Sangha, a New Age group which is again associated with the Ashrams movement.

2e. The WCCM is closely associated with theBuddhist Christian Vedanta Network, another New Age group which is again connected with the Ashrams movement and with strongly and overtly New Age groups.

All details and evidence are in the forthcoming report.

You are aware by now that my research is done meticulously, leaving no room for error or surmise.

Fr. Joe Pereira and his Kripa Foundation and the World Community for Christian Meditation {WCCM} are New Age Trojan horses in the IndianChurch, and pose a great spiritual danger to the Catholic Faith.

I would like to know what you intend to do, as Cardinal Archbishop of Bombay and Vice-President of the CBCI, about this most serious situation.

Would you like me to send you a copy of the report as soon as it is completed?

Yours obediently,

Michael Prabhu

Catholic apologist

PS: Mr. Raymond Lobo of Bombay, who had leased his Mooduhithlu [near Mangalore]property to Fr. Joe Pereira and Kripa Foundation and later cancelled the Agreement because of mismanagement by Kripa, wrote to you on December 4, 2007, September 19, 2008, and December 6, 2008 by Registered Letter A.D., quoting all the abusive language used by Fr. Joe Pereira in his email letters, and enclosing copies of letters and relevant documents, asking you to use your good offices to help get back his property from Fr. Joe Pereira.

Though Fr. Joe Pereira is a priest of your Archdiocese and Kripa is an Archdiocesan initiative, according to Mr. Lobo, you did not respond to him. I have copies of similar abusive letters of Fr Joe Pereira to other people.
