The Cincinnati House of Prayer

Intercessory Missionary Staff Sacred Trust Commitment

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night... Give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. (Isaiah 62:6-7)

The sons of Zadok, who kept the charge of My sanctuary...shall come near...to minister to Me. (Ezekiel 44:15)

Here at C-HOP we consider our prayer room and ministry center commitments as a sacred responsibility before the Lord for two reasons:

1. The Lord is “setting” watchman (intercessors) in place to pray 24/7 leading to the time when Jerusalem becomes a praise in the earth at Jesus’ return. Being “set” in place is sacred to us because the Lord Himself does it. This promise is specific to 24/7 prayer ministries in the generation in which the Lord returns. Jesus referenced this promise when He spoke of night and day prayer in the generation He returns (Luke 18:7-8).

2. In May 1983, the Lord said audibly to the leaders of IHOP-KC that He would establish 24-hour prayer in the spirit of the tabernacle of David. As ones who have been launched out from the history of IHOP-KC and the House of Prayer movement, we consider it to be a sacred trust from the Lord to “keep” a sanctuary of worship here in Cincinnati and the Tri-state region.

Understanding that it takes 84 two-hour prayer meetings each week to maintain a 24-hour worship sanctuary, we are striving to maintain a sanctuary and not necessarily 24/7. None the less, we ask each one to specify the prayer room hours that they are designating as being “set” by God on the wall of intercession here at the C-HOP Ministry Center.

We consider all of our staff to be intercessory missionaries as their vocation whether Prayer Room or Operational Staff. David paid 4,000 singers and musicians and 4,000 gatekeepers to serve in the house of God as their full-time occupation (1 Chronicles 23:5).

Building our sanctuary around the occupation of an intercessory missionary implies three things.

1. Each staff member is to establish a foundation of prayer in their personal life.

2. Each staff member is to participate in our sacred mandate to keep a worship sanctuary.

3. As part of our job, each one engages in prayer for the work of the kingdom to go forth more

effectively. Only designate the prayer room and ministry hours that are part of your sacred commitment as an intercessory missionary here at the C-HOP Ministry Center, not those that extend beyond here or that express your private devotion to the Lord.

Prayer Room Staff:

1. A minimum of one 2-hour prayer meeting a week.

2. Signing of the C-HOP Foundational Commitment

Operational Staff:

1. A minimum of 20 hours per week committed at the C-HOP Ministry Center. (*)

2. One 8-hour day at C-HOP with no more than 1 hour away from the ministry center for any purpose (lunch, coffee, meeting, etc.)

3. One service chore of choice is to be performed daily/weekly at the ministry center.

4. Signing of the C-HOP Foundational Commitment

(*) All Intercessory Missionaries that raise support through C-HOP must meet the 20-hour per week commitment at the ministry center in order to raise support through the C-HOP 501(c)(3). No exceptions. (This means approximately 1040 hours per year at the C-HOP Ministry Center.) They will also be assigned a time card and are responsible for documenting their time coming and going at the C-HOP Ministry Center.

General requirements for “ALL” Prayer Room and Operational Staff:

1. Attend all prayer meetings on your Sacred Trust Commitment Form.

2. Honor your commitments before men and God.

3. Attend the monthly All-Staff Gatherings (as part of staff training, fellowship and corporate unity).

The exceptions to these requirements are for travel, sickness, emergencies or

C-HOP sanctioned events.

All Intercessory Missionary Staff: Prayer Room & Operational

By the grace of God, for the next 12 months I make three specific commitments:

1. I purpose to help keep charge of the sanctuary by faithfully attending the prayer meetings that I designate on my Sacred Trust Commitment Form. The exceptions are for travel, sickness, emergencies, or C-HOP sanctioned events. I commit to acknowledge to my leaders each time that I do not attend or complete my C-HOP hours on my Sacred Trust Commitment Form.

2. I purpose to honor any other of my C-HOP commitments, knowing that others are counting on me.

3. I purpose to attend the monthly All-Staff Meetings and GBF Gatherings (as part of staff training and corporate unity).
