Winterset Rescheduled Annual Meeting

These minutes are from the rescheduled annual meeting of the Winterset Homeowner’s Association (HOA) on Thursday, February 23, 2006, 7pm @ the new location of The New Rival Kingdom Church (1430 Ritchie Road, District Heights, MD)

5 of 7 Board members were present.

1 Representative from The Management Group.

Various Homeowners were present.

The meeting was called to order at 7:16 pm.

The meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.

Invited guest were: Representatives from the CountyCouncilman’s Office, The Gazette Staff, The Kings Grant Association,and The Westphalia Civic Assocition.

Reading of Minutes

Minutes from the 2004 annual meeting was distributed to the neighbors.

Election

The HOA President was re-elected to serve another 3 year term on the Board. Actual Board officer positions will be determined at the next Board meeting. more …

Fence Proposal

It was stated that we will be getting a second estimate from another fence company. This company was recommended by the Fox Chase II HOA.The Board will make the final decision about the fence. more ….

The Councilman introduced his wife and staff who also attended the meeting. He gave his office phone number (301) 952-3426.

  • Status of new developments? The Councilman provided several hand outs of new developments in our area. More ….
  • Status of new high school on Brooke Lane? The Councilman stated that the new high school will open September 2006. He provided a contact at the school Boardfor more information. More ….
  • Can we tour the new high school before it opens? The Councilman stated we should also contact the school board.

Improvements to existing communities and roadways? The Councilman provided hand outs that showed the status of capital improvement projects.More …

  • How does The Councilman’s office determine the distribution of discretionary funds? Charitable organizations or 501(c)(3) organizations have first priority for discretionary funds.
  • Can Winterset receive funding for the fence project? Per The Councilman, the County can not help with funding the fence project. More …
  • Plans to run for re-election? The Councilman stated that he does plan to run for an elected office. He declined to tell us which elected office ….

  • Will repairs be made to Ritchie Marlboro Road and Whitehouse Road? The Councilman stated that he will have his office follow up on this road work request.

A neighbor thanked the Councilman for the attention he gave to the Village of Marlboro Shopping Center.

The Councilman then discussed two new bills that are going before the state. He asked for our support of the bills. More …

Power Point Presentation

The Board summarized the Power Point presentation that was reviewed in November. The Board reminded the neighbors to submit an architectural application BEFORE starting any exterior projects. The dumpster being placed in the neighborhood for bulk items was a success last year. Volunteers are needed to work a few hours a week at the CSA-23 substation.
