Who Can Apply For a Scholarship?

Ministers or licentiates in good and regular standing with the West Tennessee Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Church and their local Church are eligible to apply. Additionally, you must be enrolled and attending an accredited institution in pursuit of either undergraduate or graduate education. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must submit a properly completed scholarship application.

Additional Requirements:

For non-pastors, a letter of recommendation is required from your pastor.

What is the Application Deadline?

The application must be returned via U.S. Postal mail and postmarked no later thanSeptember 30, 2013.

GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FOR COLLEGE OR THEOLOGICAL TRAINING

In order to apply for a scholarship for college or theological training, this section of the application must be completed. Additionally, you must be enrolled or attending an accredited institution. Proposals must demonstrate an ongoing effort to build new leadership through college or theological training. Satisfactory verification of enrollment must be provided to the Scholarship Committee prior to the scholarship being awarded.

Deadline for Submission: Must be Postmarked via U.S. Postal Mail by September 30, 2013.

Eligibility to Apply for This Scholarship Support: Ministers and licentiates in good and regular standing with the West Tennessee Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Church and their local church are eligible to apply. Additionally, as stated above, you must be enrolled and attending an accredited institution. In order to be considered for a scholarship, applicants must submit: 1) a properly completed application; 2) a letter of acceptance/transcript, and 3) registration/enrollment document from the school for that current semester by the application deadline (September 30, 2013).

Review and Notification Process: All scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship(s) will be awarded during the annual A.M.E. Ministerial Alliance Thanksgiving Day Worship Service.

Directions for Completing the ScholarshipApplication:

1. General Guidelines.

a. The application must be typed in 12-point, Times New Roman font.

b. All text must be double-spaced.

c. All pages must be numbered consecutively.
