Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in a career opportunity relieving in the position of Teacher - Release from Face to Faceat Stockton Public School for Term 1 2017, commencing 27th January 2017, with the possibility of extension.

Position Information

Stockton Public School is located on a peninsular on the northern side of Newcastle Harbour. It serves a diverse community of wide ranging socio economic backgrounds. Current enrolment is 309, Preschool to Year 6, including 28 Aboriginal students.

It is a welcoming and friendly school with dedicated staff providing quality teaching and learning programs for all students. There is a strong focus on developing the whole child academically, socially and emotionally in a co-operative and caring learning environment. The Positive Behaviour for Learning School values of United, Safe, Engaged are embedded in programs, practices and relationships.

Selection criteria

• Approval and experience in teaching K-6 with demonstrated ability to deliver engaging teaching and learning programs to develop physical skills and positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle whilst catering for the individual learning needs of all students.
• Demonstrated ability in behaviour management and wellbeing practices when working with a variety of student backgrounds in both indoor and outdoor classroom settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents and staff using well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of the needs and sensitivity of Aboriginal students and students from low socio economic backgrounds.
