SWAT Grading & Project Evaluation Rubric

Student grades will be based on the following four criteria.

Semester

  • Hours worked / 64 Hours= 64% of grade
  • Extra credit available at 1 point per 4 hours. Maximum of 10 points of Extra Credit. With approval, hours can be used towards next semester’s class.
  • Wednesday Tech Seminar= 16% of grade
  • Attendance is required. Points can not be made-up. (Two evaluations of 8 points each.)
  • Semester Project / Class activities= 10% of grade
  • Semester projects will be evaluated using a standard rubric. Certification and seminar assignments will be a part of the class activities grade.
  • TRT Evaluation= 10% of grade
  • SWAT students will be assigned to a district TRT or other technology leader within each building. TRTs will evaluate their SWAT using a standardized rubric to asses work skills.

Quarter and Midterm Progress Reports

Students’ mid semester or quarter grade will be an average of the work completed thus far.

Semester Project(Semester Projects may be presented as class lessons.)

The goal of the SWAT team is to create a professional body of trained peer technicians. To achieve this objective, SWAT students will be required to create a project using modern technology such as Visual Basic, Access, FrontPage, or PowerPoint. The project will be an educational unit that will be used to teach other SWAT students a technical skill.

SWAT students will sign up in advance to lead a Wednesday afternoon training seminar. Project evaluations will be done using the following rubric. The SWAT teacher(s) present will use the evaluation rubric below. The average teacher score (0-10 points) will be averaged with the SWAT members present who will also use the evaluation rubric. The average score of the students’ scores (0-10 points) rounded up will be added to the Teacher(s) scores. This will equal the final project grade.
