Border and Title Block

The student will set up and draw a standard border and title block for size "C" paper with the following parameters: (This format will be used on all drawings in the set)

Title Block

Revisions Block

Bill of Materials: Handout (on all shop drawings only)

North Arrow (on all plan views)

General Notes

S-1 Framing Plan

Construct the Plan view of the assigned structural framing problem.

Use the assigned border and title block and revisions block.

Include all dimensions.

Add the title of the drawing, scale, and north arrow.

Add the following general notes:

TOPS OF ALL BEAMS FLUSH

ANCHOR BOLTS ARE 3/4" dia

ALL BOLTED CONNECTIONS ARE 3/4” DIA A325-N BOLTS

MATERIAL: ASTM A992, Fy=50 ksi

SPECIFICATIONS: AISC, ASD, 13TH EDITION

Add detail callout designations at the following locations:

At Column 1D

At Column 2B

At Column 1B

At the intersection of a W10 x 45 beam and a W6 x 20 beam

At the intersection of a W10 x 45 beam and two W6 x 20 beams

Add section marks at the following locations:

Cut and draw a section view between columns 2 and 3 looking north

Cut and draw a section view between columns B and C looking west

S-7 End Reactions Using AISC Tables

Calculate the End Reactions for each beam using Table 3-6 (Maximum Total Uniform Load).

Use the ASD values.

All work will be on engineering paper complete with proper headings.

Show final answer (underline).

S-8 Bolt Selection for project

Size the bolts requirements for the given projectusing Table 7-1 (Allowable Shear Strength of Bolts).

Use the ASD values in both single and double shear.

All work will be on engineering paper complete with proper headings.

S-3 Shop Drawings: Beams

Draw the necessary shop drawings for the beams for the assigned problem. Use the assigned border and title block, general shop notes, bill of materials, and revisions block.

Draw the following beam shop drawings:

Shop drawing for the W6 x 20 beam

Shop drawing for the W10 x 45 beam (column location A-B-1)

Shop drawing for the W10 x 45 beam (column location A-1-2

Add the following general shop notes:

SPECIFICATIONS: AISC, ASD, 13TH EDITION

MATERIAL: ASTM A992, Fy-50 ksi

HOLES: 13/16" DIAMETER

BOLTS: 3/4" DIAMETER, ASTM A325-N

PAINT: AS PER SPEC.

S-4 Shop Drawings: Columns

Draw the necessary shop drawings for the columns for the assigned problem. Use the assigned border and title block, general shop notes, bill of materials, and revisions block.

Draw the following column shop drawings:

Shop drawing for the column at location A-1

Shop drawing for the column at location B-2

Shop drawing for the column at location A-3

Note: It is not necessary to draw all nine columns as shop drawings. You can use the standard designation for right and left hand parts and mirrored parts to cut down on the number of shops drawings that actual need to be drawn.

Add the following general shop notes:

Add the title of the drawing, scale, and north arrow.

Add the following general notes:
