South Jersey Storm Competition Rules and Expectations 2014-2015

THE RULES BELOW APPLY TO EVERY COMPETITION FOR EVERY CHEERLEADER

  • CHEERLEADERS MUST BE ON TIME FOR REPORT TIME. This means being at the assigned location at the assigned time, competition ready. Cheerleaders must report to their Competition Assistant (or Coach for Senior Teams) at the assigned location. We strongly suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before your report time.
  • All cheerleaders must have an adult over the age of 18 with them at the competition. That adult mustremain at the competition the entire time the cheerleader is present. Competition Assistants and Coaches are not responsible to chaperone or supervise your child for the whole day.
  • IF YOU ARE LATE you must notify your competition assistantas soon as possible. If you are on a Senior Level team you must use GroupMe to contact your coach. If you are late to more than one competition day, it is grounds for immediate dismissal from the Storm program with no refund at the sole discretion of Storm.
  • Cheerleaders must arriveat the competition building in full make-up with hair done and bow in place. Curling hair/applying make-up in the bathroom and hallways will not be permitted.
  • Should Storm offer hair and/or makeup services at competitions, each cheerleader must have their hair and/or makeup completed prior to report time.
  • Cheerleaders must arrive in Full Uniform with Warm-up Jacket on and zipped. The Warm-up Jacket is to be worn until the cheerleader is escorted to warm-ups and then must be worn after the cheerleader competes including being worn and zipped at awards. No pants of any type may be worn at awards.
  • Cheerleaders must wear no-show WHITE ankle socks.
  • Cheerleaders must wear Varsity sneakers at all times.
  • Cheerleaders must only wear a strapless bra under the uniform top so that there are no straps showing. Bras with clear straps are not permitted.
  • Cheerleaders may not wear slippers, flip flops, boots, or any other type of footwear once in the competition building.
  • Cheerleaders may not wear pajama pants or anything other than the STORMWarm-up jacket and pants. No other pants may be worn at any time.
  • ALL jewelry must be removed prior to entering the competition building.
  • Cheerleaders may not wear colored nail polish or fake nails.
  • Cheerleaders must remain from smoking at any competition or at anytime while wearing any Storm apparel.
  • Cheerleaders may not display any type of PDA with their significant other during practices and/or at competitions.
  • Cheerleaders must refrain from speaking negatively, using foul language or using slang at all times. This includes, but it not limited to, speaking negatively about other teams, coaches, cheerleaders, competition officials or judges.
  • Cheerleaders must show good sportsmanship at all times. This includes but is not limited to: clapping/cheering for all teams at awards, clapping/cheering for all Storm teams, maintaining a positive attitude no matter what the outcome, and being respectful and mindful of pre-celebratory excitement if you believe you have won.
  • Cheerleaders must stay and watch all teams listed on “teams to watch” section of report time paper. Cheerleaders must watch the teams from the parent viewing area. Cheerleaders must please report to your coach at the time and location provided so that attendance will be taken. Any failure to watch a team listed may result in dismissal from the Storm program without refund at the sole discretion of Storm.
  • Cheerleaders must stay for their team awards session and be present on the mat in FULL UNIFORM AND MAKEUP.
  • No parent, cheerleader or team shall create any apparel with the Storm Logo or name. Any Storm apparel worn must be purchased through Storm.
  • Parents shall refrain from speaking negatively about other teams, coaches, cheerleaders, competition officials or judges. Parents shall not email Varsity or any other competition producer nor their judges with any complaints. All complaints shall be brought to Storm and Storm shall contact the appropriate entity.
