Using the product

Playing Memory Sticks

To play a memory stick, simply insert it into the USBsocket on the top of the player and switch on. The Sonic will find the audio, emit a “bing bong” tone and start playing automatically. You can then use the buttons as described in the orientation section to navigate the audio content.

Connecting with Bluetooth

Connecting to the Sonic via Bluetooth does not require any buttons to be pressed on the Sonic. Simply search for and select the Sonic on your Bluetooth device (Phone, Tablet etc.) to connect. You will hear a tone through the player (if switched on) when the connection has been made.

Please note: Bluetooth is not useable when a USB stick is inserted.

Charging the battery

We recommend your first charge lasts 6-8 hours and thereafter charge for 1-2 hours as required. Do not charge overnight, and only use the charger supplied with the player.

If you intend to use the Sonic on mains power only, we recommend removing the battery.

Changing the Battery

The battery should easily click out once the cover has been removed. Then line up the new battery with the gold contacts and replace the cover. Some sighted assistance may be required to change the battery.

Using Headphones

The headphone socket is located on the rear of the player to the left of the battery compartment. The headphone port is a raised circle shape and is painted in yellow. Only ‘mini-jack’ headphone connectors will fit into the socket.

Please note: Bluetooth headphones will not work with the Sonic. The Sonic is a Bluetooth receiving device, for playback through the speakers or the headphone socket, but will not transmit the signal to Bluetooth headphones.
