Fire Society [Academic] – ✓5 for 0 against and therefore recognised as a group

Chemistry society [Academic] – Page 2 was not supplied in the paperwork and the committee could not make a decision on the information provided. Not recognised

*Action- Societies team to follow up with group and ask for the additional paperwork.

Archaeology Society [Academic]✓5 for 0 against and therefore recognised as a group

Photography Society [Academic]✓5 for 0 against and therefore recognised as a group

Chinese Society {C.SS.A] [International]✓5 for 0 against and therefore recognised as a group

Psychology [Academic]✓5 for 0 against and therefore recognised as a group

International Society- Questions were raised around how similar this was to the Erasmus student network. The committee asked to seek further clarification. *Action – APO to speak to both groups.

Questions raised around is it distinct enough, however it was agreed that a vote would be taken and5 for O against 1 abstainand therefore recognised as a group

Commuters and Friends [Interest]6 for 0 againstand therefore recognised as a group

Role Playing Society [Interest]- May have links with Table-Top6 for 0 againstand therefore recognised as a group

Believers Loveworld [Faith]

-Could be have similarities to CU?

-Need clarity for what they are wanting to do.

*Action – needs clarity on what group is doing, APO and Societies Team to meet and gain some clarity.

Society Of The Month

The committee thought that Number 2nomination was better placed in volunteer of the month rather than society of the month and subsequentlymoved to volunteer of the month category.

The committee did not decide on a society of the month as the nominations submitted did not fit the criteria needed.

Paranormal society - £32.50 agreed for cost of travel to Lancaster playhouse trip.

*Action APO and Societies staff to encourage all recognised groups to put in for grants.
