Killoughternane Drama Club is proud to present this year's production, "Cash on Delivery", a play in two acts. WATERWAYS IRELAND BARROW TOWPATH DEVELOPMENT**

A formal submission for planning permission has been made to Kildare, Laois and Carlow County Councils. Waterways Ireland submitted the planning to the councils on Friday 27th January 2017, the planning has since been validated.

Waterways Ireland will now pro-actively engage local people in the process through a series of public information days, we would like to extend an invite to all interested individuals and groups to find out exactly what is planned and make informative decisions . An information evening will be held in the Scout Hall on Tuesday the 14th of February from 3 to 7pm

ST MULLINS HERITAGE CENTRE

Have you got a few hours to spare? Are you interested in Local History? We are currently seeking volunteers to work a few hours every week in The Heritage Centre, meeting and greeting visitors and answering the telephone. Graiguenamanagh Fire Service News
Kilkenny Fire and Rescue Service are delighted to announce the commencement of the building of and Graiguenamanagh Fire Brigade new FIRE STATION in March 2017.
As part of this project there will be a Fire Service Garden. Within this garden we will be inscribing the names of ALL past members of the Graiguenamanagh Fire Brigade onto Kilkenny limestone slabs. To this end, we are endeavoring to collate the names of all who have served with Graiguenamanagh Fire Brigade - we would be grateful if you know of any family members and/or friends who have served in Graiguenamanagh Fire Brigade since 1950 to come forward with their names and period of service. We want to be sure to be sure that we have included ALL no matter how long or short their service time was with Graiguenamanagh Fire Brigade. Thanking you in advance. Town of Books in conjunction with One Book One Community are delighted to announce four exciting competitions;

1). Bunting Competition. Taking inspiration from the book “Spirit of the Titanic” by Nicola Pierce design and make your own Bunting (template for triangle is on the back of this notice).

Up-style old material, stitch, knit, felt, embroider, patchwork, attach buttons, lace, ribbons, zips – there are endless possibilities. Use new or old materials to create a riot of colour. It’s all about imagination and creativity – something we are not short of here in Graiguenamanagh. The Bunting will be sewn together and put on display in the town for The Expo and the Festival.

2). Poetry Competition. Taking inspiration from the book “Spirit of the Titanic” by Nicola Pierce write a poem based on your chosen portion of the story.

Entries closing date 7th March. Drop off to The Library (Competitions 1 & 2)

3). Fancy Dress Competition. Taking inspiration from the characters and era of the book “Spirit of the

embroider, patchwork, attach buttons, lace, ribbons, zips – there are endless possibilities. Use new or old materials to create a unique costume of that time.

4). Hat Competition. Taking inspiration from the characters and era of the book “Spirit of the Titanic” by Nicola Pierce design and make your own Hat.

Entries to be judged on 16th March at The Expo in the Abbey Hall (Competitions 3 & 4)

You will also be invited to join The Fancy Dress Parade on the Saturday afternoon of the Town of Books Festival in August.
