CHRISTMAS FAIR SATURDAY 29 NOVEMBER

The school Christmas Fair is on Saturday 29 November between 10.00am and noon – put this great event in your diary. There will be jewellery and craft stalls, Tombola and a giant Christmas raffle. Activities include a bouncy castle, nail bar, face painting, punch balloons and Christmas games, as well as perhaps a visit to Santa’s grotto. There is also a special shop where children can buy a present for parents/carers. If all this works up an appetite, have a break in the Christmas café with tea, coffee or juice and a mince pie or home baking. Or you may prefer the pop corn stand and tuck shop. Tickets 50p for adults and 25p per child will be sold at the gate.

P7 TRIP TO KINGSWOOD

Well done to our P7 pupils who had a wonderful residential education week at the Kingswood centre near Hexham. Thank you to Miss Kelly, Miss Paul and Miss Lynch for accompanying the group. The pupils developed skills in teambuilding, problem solving, self- esteem and independence through abseiling, quad biking, high equilibrium, the 3G swing, archery, bushcraft, night time assault course, disco, laser quest– they also made their own powerpoint presentation. It certainly was an action-packed week!

P4 SPORT

All our P4 pupils attended the Badminton Festival at the Emirates Arena on 19 November. They had a great time and learned much about the sport. Oscar Moogan-Sharratt won a badminton racket for his efforts and participation. Well done, Oscar.

The pupils also attended a Sky Sports event at Scotstoun Leisure Centre on 25 November. The pupils had the chance to take part in 8 sports and 4 healthy living activities, and the day was a great success.

REGISTRATION FOR P1 STARTING IN AUGUST 2015

Once again this year there was a registration week in November and we welcomed many children and parents to the school. Huge thanks go to our P6 pupils who showed our visitors round the school and explained the Buddy Scheme and many other aspects of school life. The visitors were very impressed and asked that we pass on their appreciation for being made to feel so welcome in Scotstoun Primary. You are a credit to yourselves and to your school. (The next registration week is in January for anyone who missed it in November).

CHRISTMAS POST

Our P6 pupils will be running the school Christmas card post box. Please ensure cards are in envelopes with full name and class. The post box will be at the Duncan Avenue entrance area and will be emptied each morning break. This postal service will run from Monday 1 December to Friday 12 December.

INFANT NATIVITY

This year the infants are performing Angel Express. The P1pupils are all working hard to learn their lines, dances and songs. P2 children are concentrating on the percussion accompaniment and learning lyrics, whist P3 are providing some narration and a lot of singing. We all get excited about the Nativity – Christmas really starts here! Ticket arrangements are in place for the parents of performers, and all our pupils will see the play on Friday 14 December.
