7:00 pmDepart Science Hill High School this evening to begin your journey to New York City. (Approximate drive time is 9 ¼ hours without stops, 630 miles.) You will be traveling through the night to arrive in New York City tomorrow morning.

ArrivalWelcome to New York City! Upon arrival, meet your Gateway Tour Manager.

9:30 amGroup 1 (up to 75 people): Tour Carnegie Hall. Learn the tales of music legends and fascinating facts about the world’s most famous concert hall. Before Andrew Carnegie commissioned him to build one, New York City architect William Burnet Tuthill had never designed a concert hall. Clearly, his lack of experience was no detriment: Not only did Tuthill conceive an elegant building, but his work also—and most notably—gave Carnegie Hall its legendary sound. Day of week is subject to Carnegie Hall’s schedule.

Radio City

Music HallDuring this one-hour guided tour guests will have a chance to see the Great Stage, one of the largest indoor performance stages in the world; the stage's hydraulic system, still in operation since the '30s and the renowned private suite, with 12-feet high gold leaf ceilings and onetime home to Samuel "Roxy" Rothafel. And as an exciting climax to the Stage Door Tour, guests will meet one of the world-famous Radio City Rockettes!

6:30 amMeet as a group and walk to Rockefeller Center (0.4 miles, 15 minute walk).

7:00 amYou’ll have the chance to catch a glimpse of the outdoor taping of the “Today Show” at Rockefeller Center.

Note: Today Show taping begins at 7:00 am.

BreakfastA meal stipend will be provided for breakfast ($10.00 value).

Meal options: Au Bon Pain, Starbucks, Lenny’s Deli, Liberty Deli, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, and more.

10:00 amLicensed New York City guides will join you on your motorcoaches and narrate your tour as you explore the different neighborhoods and sights of this amazing city. Some sights you are sure to see include St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Little Italy, Chinatown and Battery Park.

1:00 pmA meal stipend will be provided for lunch ($15.00 value) in Little Italy or Chinatown.

2:30 pmLoad coaches and depart for the 9/11 Memorial.

9/11 MemorialVisit the site of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The names ofthe nearly 3,000victims of the September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 terrorist attacks are inscribed on bronze panels lining the two pools. Waterfalls cascade down all four sides of each pool, creating a special place for remembrance and reflection. The surrounding plaza is filled with oak trees and a callery pear known as the Survivor Tree, which was nursed back to health after surviving the 9/11 attacks.

3:30 pmThe Memorial Museum, located at the World Trade Center site, is to bear solemn witness to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. The museum honors the nearly 3,000 victims of these attacks and all those who risked their lives to save others.

FDNY

Memorial Wall A fifty-six foot long bronze wall of cast bas-relief bronze honors those firefighters who gave their lives in service to the public on September 11, 2001. It contains the names of every active member of the department who perished in the collapse of the Towers. It is comprised of fourteen individual bronze panels brazed together into an artwork weighing over three tons; the monument tribute is set into the west wall of Engine Company 10 – Ladder Company 10 on the corner of Greenwich and Liberty Streets. “Ten House” was damaged in the collapse of the Twin Towers, sitting directly south of the former World Trade Center Plaza.

9:00 pmWalk upstairs to visit New York City’s, Top of the Rock. Board an elevator taking you to the 70th floor observation deck on top of the famous RockefellerPlaza building, with panoramic views of Central Park, the ChryslerBuilding, Times Square, the Hudson River, the East River, the BrooklynBridge, and the Statue of Liberty.

8:00 amLoad coaches at Hard Rock Cafe and depart for your school exchange.

9:00 amArrive at the High School of World Cultures. Unload instruments and warm-up for your performance.

12:30 pmLoad coaches and depart for your hotel.

1:15 pmArrive at your hotel and change into clothes for the Broadway show tonight.

6:00 pmWalk over to the Gershwin Theater (0.5 miles, 15 minute walk).

7:00 pmAttend Wicked at the Gershwin Theater (based on a $110 ticket value).

10:00 amLoad coaches at Hard Rock Cafe and depart for Battery Park to pass through security.

11:00 amLine up for security to board the ferry to Liberty and Ellis Islands. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France, dedicated on October 28, 1886, was designated as a National Monument in 1924 and restored for her centennial on July 4, 1986. The self-guided audio tour is included for Ellis Island.

Please note: visitors are required to submit to airport style security screening before boarding vessels departing from Battery Park and Liberty State Park.

Lunch On your own at Ellis Island or Liberty Island

Meal options: The Crown Café at Liberty Island, Ellis Café at Ellis Island. There are also concession stands available on the boats and on the islands.

4:00 pmLoad coaches and depart for Chelsea Market. Grab a view of the Hudson River on the High Line, a public park built on an elevated freight rail line.

6:30 pmBoard your dinner cruise at Chelsea Piers!

7:00 pmCruise along the Hudson River with spectacular views of the New York City skyline complete with a DJ and dancing (2.5 hours in length).

♫ 11:00 amParticipate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. With the first parade held on March 17, 1762, it still holds it’s tradition of being a marcher’s parade – hosting 150,000-200,000 marchers in front of approximately 2 million spectators.

Parade kicks off at 11:00 am.
