PRAGUE is the capital of the Czech Republic, located in the heart of Europe. Prague is not only an attractive historical and cultural city but it is also known as the host of many international meetings. It is an easily accessible and safe destination, providing variety of reasonably priced accomodation.

THE DATE of the conference in June ensures pleasant continental mild weather; 25 – 30 ˚C. It is planned before the start of the top tourist season so the prices are expected to be lower.

VENUE: Prague Congress Centre is a modern world class convention centre, with recently refurbished halls and rooms, equipped by leading edge technologies, fully airconditioned, located 5 minutes from the city center by subway. Major hotels are at a walking distance or within 10 minutes ride by subway.

WONCA and Czech Medical Association JEP have signed an official conference contract in September 2009.

WONCA LIASION PERSON Javier Dominquez del Olmo was nominated to assist HOC.

We appreciate the support and the attention paid by WONCA president prof. Chris van Weel and WONCA CEO Dr. Alfred Loh to the organization and marketing of the 2013 conference.

HOST ORGANIZING COMMITTEE and SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE have been established and they meet regularly to prepare a well organized and interesting congress.

Local leading professionals and respected persons, such as representatives of the Czech Medical Association and the Charles University, the Mayor of Prague, have been invited to HONORARY COMMITTEE. ThePrague WONCA Conference enjoyes overal authority support.

Prof. Igor Svab was invited to lead INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD.

The facilitiesandother arrangments for pre-conference WONCA REGIONAL MEETINGS and WONCA WORLD COUNCIL MEETING have been booked in the hotel facing the congress venue however we still consider two destinations for WONCA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING. They are both in one hour driving distance from Prague.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME: THE CARE FOR GENERATIONS has been chosen as the overall theme for the conference. The main scientific aim of the conference is to present Family Medicine as medical discipline capable to deal with all health problems through the whole human life and to offer contribution for solutions of some global problems of the current world. The scientific committee will guarantee a dynamic, interactive and exciting programme, adressing all important issues of the current family medicine; latest research outcomes, practice issues, quality of care, education and policy issues. The scientific committee would invite any other topics suggestions from all WONCA colleges.

The capacity of the conference allows to perform more than 600 scientific sessions with more than 2.000 scientific papers and the exhibition space allows to present more than 1.200 posters.

Top speakers from all over the world will be invited to provide key-note addresses in the eight plenary sessions. PROGRAMME AT GLANCE is attached.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME: Prague offers different optionsof social and rich cultural life. Besides welcome reception we plan another organized evening party in one of the historical buildings. Plenty of other activities, concerts, theatres, sightseeing tours and trips will be offered. The program for accompanying persons both pre-conference and during conference will be organized as well.

Conference agency GUARANT INTERNATIONAL was established at 1991. It has become a leading congress organizer in the Czech Republic. The agency has also been a successful organizer of WONCA Europe Conference in 1997 but the main references come from the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in 2000 (17.000 participants), from the Annual European Congress of Rheumatology in 2001 (8.300 pax) and from the United Gastroenterology Week in 2004 (9.500 pax) and many others.

OTHER MARKETING ACTIVITIES: We shall provide information in the WONCA Prague 2013 booth in Cancun and present up to date information and invitation in the short presentation during the Closing Ceremony. We plan to present WONCA Prague 2013 at other regional conferencies. We have registered WONCA 2013 Conference to all important websites informing about future scientific events. We shall use WONCA directory to disseminate e-mail information about WONCA Prague 2013 and plan to have announcements in WONCA News and other family medicine journals.

THE FINANCIAL MATTERS: The agreed levy for WONCA is 55 USD for ordinary delegates and direct WONCA members and 25 USD for vocational trainees in GP/FM or day registrants. If expected 4.000 participants will occurit counts for up to USD 200.000.

ACCOMODATION AND TRAVEL: There are more than 73.000 beds in Prague hotels of all categories and other 6.300 beds available in youth hostels. There are 13 low-cost airlines in Europe and 5 direct routes from the Northern America. The discount up to 25% in flights with Czech Airlines (the official carrier for WONCA 2013) will be negotiated for WONCA registered participants. No visas are required for citizens from Europe, USA, Canada, Japan and many other countries.
