Dear Friends,

We are here to introduce you to the South Side Scholarship Foundation. It was founded in 1969 as a Wisconsin Non-Profit Corporation by a group of volunteers in Bay View, WI whose primary purpose is to provide scholarships to students pursuing post-high school education and continuing education. We are also a tax exempt 501c3 organization. A copy of our 501c3 letter can be found on our website,

Our organization is proud of our achievements, as we have raised more than $547,000 to provide over 855scholarships to a diverse group of students. In 2017, the Foundation was able to award thirty-five $950 scholarships.

Our largest fundraiser, Mardi Gras Dinner/Dance, is quickly approaching and is being held at the Oak Creek Community Center on Saturday, February 10, 2018. We feel it is vital that the local community and businesses become involved in support of education and are asking for your help in generating the funds needed to make our annual scholarship awards possible.

We approach you today asking for your participation in our Foundation as a business sponsor. There is a variety of ways you can assist us including:

Grants: The most significant would be an annual contribution to our fund that could be earmarked for grants.

Major Auction Items: Major auction items include significant items of value ($300 or more) that could be part of the live auction at the Mardi Gras Dinner/Dance.

Silent Auction/Raffle Items: Silent auction and raffle items contribute funds for 3-4 scholarships. We are seeking new gift items such as jewelry, clothing, sports memorabilia, liquor, craft and seasonal items, household items, appliances and gift certificates which can include but is not limited to: restaurants, professional services, and hotels and events.

Program Book Ads: We have a program and advertising book for our dinner/dance that is also used for promotion all year long. Ads from this book are a vital revenue source and provide community visibility for businesses.

Attendance at the Mardi Gras Dinner/Dance: It is our hope that you could join us for our Mardi Gras Dinner/Dance event on Saturday, February 10, 2018 so that you can be a part of this major community celebration.

Should you choose to participate in our fundraising efforts, you can send items with the Donor Information Form accompanying this letter to:
