Purpose of the SCA Executive Council

Purpose of the SCA Executive Council.

Students applying for the SCA Executive Council, please read the following expectations for each member below. These expectations are general and will become more specific throughout the school year. By signing this paper, you are committing yourself, if you become elected, to complete the following. If you have any questions, please come see me in room G103.

  • Actively provide input into the process for developing student policies.
  • Maintain communication between students and faculty.
  • Provide year long activities involving social gatherings, community service projects, school service projects, and educational programs for the students.
  • Promote student involvement in the school and the community.
  • Promote school spirit and a sense of pride among students and faculty.
  • Sponsor activities that will provide funds for activities to be carried out by SCA.

“If elected for SCA Executive Council, I agree to be an active member and will try to meet all the goals set forth. I also agree to abide by the rules of Albemarle County Schools. I also realize that I may be removed from the council if I am not active.”

Students applying for the Class Officer, please read the following expectations for each member below. These expectations are general and will become more specific throughout the school year. By signing this paper, you are committing yourself, if you become elected, to complete the following. If you have any questions, please come see me in room G103.

President:

Must attend SCA Executive Council Meetings.

Will serve to relay information discussed at SCA meetings to their class.

Perform duties/tasks assigned by SCA President.

Coordinate the agenda and conduct Class Executive meetings.

Delegate duties/tasks within Class Executive Committee.

Promote positive working relationships between councils.

Serves as spokesperson for his/her class.

Set appropriate behavior throughout school and promote school spirit and a sense of pride among students and faculty.

Gain respect and maintain support for class goals and objectives.

Vice President:

Must be prepared to take on duties/tasks of the President at anytime.

Must be responsible for duties/tasks assigned by President.

Secretary:

Take minutes of all regular meetings of Class Council and at any special meetings of the class.

Take attendance and keep an accurate record of how often Executive Committee members miss.

Responsible for writing letters as requested by President.

Keep files and records of all class activities.

Provide written agendas prior to meetings.

Gain respect and maintain support for class goals and objectives.

Treasurer:

Responsible for class finances.

Develop a budget for school year, with the help of other class officers.

Keep an accurate record of budget account and report to other class officers.

Keep record of receipts and invoices, and which function required such material.

Set appropriate behavior throughout school and promote school spirit and a sense of pride among students and faculty.
