Sub: - Tense situation at Amritsar SSA due to adamant attitude of management.

Sir,

Kindly refer to our discussion held on 10-04-2015, 02-06-2015 and during your visit to Ludhiana office. We briefed you about the confrontation between the main recognised union and management of Amritsar SSA. You assured to talk to GMT Amritsar to ease the situation, but nothing has happened. We are aware that the top management including yourself and Forum of BSNL unions/Associations are much worried about the deteriorating financial health of BSNL and its declining market share. While the management, Associations and unions are on their toes to revive the BSNL, such situation is unwarranted. We know that no organisation can advance without industrial peace. We are also aware that Amritsar SSA islagging behind the other SSA in case of revenue and market share. Our esteemed customers are leaving us due to poor maintenance of services in this SSA. We are told that in past few months around 8000 land line customers have got their connections disconnected. Being the responsible trade union we tried our best to stop such confrontation but we failed due to adamant attitude of the management. We have observed that in race of supremacy the administration is ignoring the leaders of BSNLEU. After meeting you I directed my District Secretary to meet the GMT, but the GMT did not showed any interest and escape the meeting. Now provoked by the attitude of the management and to settle the long pending issues of the staff our district secretary has served upon a trade union action notice on the management. In fact our district secretary has written several letters to the management but management is totally ignoring the concerns of the union. We are enclosing herewith the copies of letter copies of which were also given to you.

We, request your good self to intervene in the matter and advise the Amritsar management to sit around the table to avoid any confrontation, so that the industrial peace is maintained for the advancement of our organising.

We hope that you will take early remedial measures so that the cordial relations between the main recognised union and the management are maintained.

With best cooperations.

Yours Sincerely,

(BALBIR SINGH)

Circle Secretary,

BSNLEU, Punjab.
