Things to know about the PWRBA Bee School Application Process

·  Please join us at the Open House to meet beekeepers on Saturday,Nov. 18th, 2017 from 1-3 pm at the Manassas Church of the Brethren, 10047 Nokesville Road (Rt.28), Manassas, VA

·  Applications are accepted anytime up to the Open House Saturday,Nov. 18th 2017

·  Applications will be reviewed after the Open House and a roster of the 2018 class will be made available in early December 2017. If Space is available, we will continue to accept applications into January, 2018.

·  If you are accepted into class, class meets 8 times between late-January and late-March on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm.

·  The Class Fee (includes class books, presentations, and PWRBA membership dues) will be $100.00 per family DO NOT PAY AT THIS TIME- WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE NOTIFIED THAT YOUR APPLICATION IS ACCEPTED in early December.

·  This course is very popular and has filled up most years. Class size is limited to 25. Selection for class is based on application and if needed, evaluation and/or lottery. Active PWRBA members will be given priority.

·  You should know that the initial cost for setting up your bee hives averages approximately $600-$800 including equipment and bees, but not including the class tuition. Also, be aware that manipulating bee hive bodies does require strength enough to lift heavy boxes filled with honey weighing sometimes well over 40 or more pounds.
