Tier I and Tier II Atom Hockey Teams:
Porcupine Minor Hockey Association in conjunction with Fortier Beverages would like to invite your team to the 24st annual Powerade Classic Atom Hockey Tournament on February 11th, 12th and 13th, of 2011. This is a great annual hockey tournament held during the South Porcupine Winter Carnival, which ensures a weekend of great activities both on and off the ice.
This is an N.O.H.A. sanctioned tournament. The Tournament fee is $550.00 per team, with a guarantee of three games per team. Payment must be received prior to January 15th 2010. Please make cheque payable to the PORCUPINE MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. This tournament has a “No Refund” policy. N.O.H.A. travel permits and cards are necessary.

Powerade Classic Atom Hockey Tournament
Rules and regulations
Eligibility: This is an NOHA Sanctioned tournament. All teams must be registered with
NOHA for insurance purposes.
Permits: NOHA and House league teams must submit their permit and cards before 1st
Scheduled game.
Protests: NO PROTESTS! Misunderstandings may be reviewed by the tournament
rules committee for final decision.
Playing Rules: C.H.A. rules will be in effect. House league division – No Body Contact
Team Colors: Home team will wear white. In the event of conflicting colors, the home
team will wear the alternate sweaters.
Game Times: 3 – 10 minute stop time periods. Straight time will be in effect after a (5)
goal spread in the 3rd period only. It will remain straight time for the
remainder of the game even if the margin is reduced to less than (5) goals.
All teams are expected at the arena at least one hour prior to game time
and be prepared to play thirty (30) minutes prior to scheduled game time.
Tournament point scoring:
During round robin play, each team will receive a point in case of tie.
No overtime.
Tied position after round robin will be determined by NOHA Rule 19.
If still tied, the team with the least penalty minutes moves on. If still tied, a flip of a coin will determine higher position.
During semi-finals and finals, if tied at end of regulation play, 5 minute
Sudden death – (2) skaters and (1) goalie until decision.
(Penalty – add a player to ice)
All teams guaranteed “Three Games”
All games are played at the Whitney Arena

Good day to all players and spectators
On behalf of the Powerade Classic committee, I would like to welcome you to our 24rd annual hockey tournament being held at the Whitney and arena on February 11th, 12th and 13th, 2011.We’re sure that you will enjoy your weekend and hope that your team will take time and participate in the many children’s and adult events being run in the 26th annual South Porcupine-Porcupine Winter Carnival.
Our coaches, parents, executive, referees, and arena staff have worked hard in helping make this tournament a great success and enjoyable to all.
