MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: Occasional supervision of placement students

JOB PURPOSE:

To coordinate a successful sports injury service including injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Assist in the development of YSJActive as a recognised professional provider of sport, exercise and wellbeing in the University and the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent care of athletes including prevent injuries, recognise, manage and treat them should they occur.
  1. Deliver and evaluate high quality injury prevention strategies e.g. Screening and monitoring of players, delivery of established exercise based protocols and post exercise recovery.
  1. Provide acute trauma triage and care and referral.
  1. Deliver and evaluate high quality rehabilitation and reconditioning methods both clinic and pitch based.
  1. Contribute to shared decision making over returning to participation and sport.
  1. Effectively communicating with all stakeholders regarding injury based information e.g. estimated injury timeframe and injury plan.
  1. To develop and oversee a weekly sports injury/ soft tissue therapy clinic for students, staff and partners.
  1. Effective governance of medical records and equipment including ensuring medical supplies are always in stock and correct working order.
  1. Assist the YSJActive team in development and delivery of activities and projects including the operation of Haxby Road and specialist classes such as stroke rehab and dementia circuits.
