If you're planning to attend the next Wellness Committee meeting on Thursday, August 8, 11:30am –12:30pm AND you would likeus to provide you with a Subway sandwich, please RSVP to Donna Sakayama ()no later than Tuesday August 6 at 12noon. We will order the Classic Combo sandwich platter and the Fresh Fit sandwich platter, and provide beverages and fruit.
The meeting will be held in Main Classroom (2nd floor, admin wing), Youth Services Center, 222 Paul Scannell Drive, San Mateo.
Please note that this is a secured building.
If you have a County photo ID card, bring it with you to bypass going through security.
If you are NOT an employee and/or not in possession of a County photo ID card, be prepared for an airport security like experience (minus taking off your shoes!). Do not bring anything that in any small way might be considered dangerous, as it will be confiscated.
Please come 15 minutes early to get your food and beverage and get settled so that we can begin at 11:30am.

4) REVIEW OF SAMPLE BOXES of PRODUCE DELIVERY FINALISTS (LOOK + TASTE = YUMMY!) – (10 minutes)
-- We have ordered a small box of locally-grown fruit and vegetables from each of the three finalists. They will be packaged exactly as they would be if they were to be delivered to a worksite. This will allow us to get a side-by-side comparison of quantity and quality of items and pricing.
-- The finalists are: Sigona’s, Good Eggs, and J&J Vending.
-- Zul from Purchasing has indicated that he will take care of negotiating the final contract with whatever vendors we choose. We can choose to have more than one vendor, and departments will always be permitted to choose a separate vendor, regardless of this process.

Liability /Legal considerations for onsite exercise programs + equipment
--Mandatory training for Wellness Champions of departments with wellness grant monies targeted for this type of activity.
-- Alicia has asked me to ask you to come to this meeting with the name of the “responsible person” who will be the authorized individual in your department to oversee the fitness area and/or equipment.

3)Set aside time to listen to your ideas about topics/classes for 2014. I’m asking all of the Wellness Team to be present at this meeting.

Alicia Kellie and I have been discussing the possibility of a joint Safety – Wellness – Ergonomics meeting in the Fall, bringing together the department representatives from each program and identifying potential collaborations/partnerships/efficiencies in working together.
