Part II: Systems Algebraically

Use either Substitution or Elimination... your choice. You must do checks in both original equations!

1) x = 4- 3y(-11,5)2) 8x + 2 = y(.25,4)

7x + 10y = -27 6x – 5y = -17

3) 12x – 7y =48(1.5,-4)4) 9x – 4y = -88(-8,-4)

4x + 3y = -6 2x + 5y = 4

5) 4x – 5 = y(4,11) 6) 7x + 4y = -11 (-5,6)

7x + 5y = 83 5x + 2y = - 13

7) 6x – y = -16(-4.5,-11)8) 8x – 5y = -72(-4,8)

4x + 7y = -95 5x + 44 = 3x

9) 12x = 20- 8y(-3,7)10) 5y = 8x + 97

5x – 6y = -57 10x + 7y = 51(-4, 13)

11) Benny and Bart went into Mickey D’s for some Snack Wraps and sodas. Benny bought 5 Snack Wraps and 3 sodas and his bill was $12.82. Bart bought 4 Snack Wraps and 5 sodas for $14.91. Find the price of each item. Snack Wrap = $1.49, Soda = $1.79

12) Gallo and his brother went to Blockbuster to get some DVD’s Gallo bought 11 Dora DVDs and 2 Heavy Metal DVDs and paid $268. His brother bought 3 Dora DVDs and 15 Heavy Metal DVDs and paid $261. Find out the total cost of 4 Dora and 3 Heavy Metal DVDs. Dora = $22 Heavy Metal = $13 Total Cost = $133.
