COSMETOLOGY (Theory)

Maximum Marks: 45Time allowed: 3 Hrs.

Minimum Pass Marks: 16

A) Instructions for paper-setters

The question paper will consist of three sections A, B and C. Sections A, B will have four questions from the respective sections of the syllabus and will carry 6 marks each. Section Cis compulsory and will consist of 14 short answer type questions of 1.5 marks each which will cover the entire syllabus uniformly.

B) Instructions for candidates

1.Candidates are required to attempt two questions each from sections A and B of the question paper and the entire section C. All questions carry equal marks.

Section-A

Sterilization & Sanitations: Methods of Sterilization & Sanitations, Commonly used disinfectants, Knowledge of common antiseptics, General suggestions for sanitations.

Advance Skin Treatment: Anti Pigmentation, skin tightening, aroma therapy.

Quick Herbal Remedies & nature cure. Care of beauty with home made things. Healthy & natural nutrients for the skin.

Section-B

Bacteriology: What is Bacteria, How Bacteria grows and reproduce, Types of Bacteria, Infections and Disease

Chemical Treatment of Hair: Rebounding, perming, straight therapy, Smoothening, Theory of advanced makeup.

Eye care: Natural care, eye exercise, diet, vitamin-A, Ayurvedic Aids, natural Aids, Palming.

Maximum Marks: 40Time allowed: 3 Hrs.

Minimum Pass Marks: 14

The break-up of marks for the practical will be as under:

Lab Record: 05 Marks

Viva Voce: 10 Marks

Program Development and Execution: 25 Marks

Make-up: Cosmetics used in make-up, how to choose the correct colour, selecting base shades, how to determine facial balance, Bridal Makeup - day & night, Corrective make-up.

Hair Styling: Formal and casual, bridal burn, advanced bridal burn.

Draping of Formals & Causals: Saree and Lehngas.

Advance Skin treatment: anti pigmentation, skin tightening, aroma therapy.

Chemical hair jobs: Global color, gray coverage.

Salon Management: Salon Planning, Types of Salon Ownership, Record Keeping, Types of Services Offered, Types of Employers, Professional Ethics as an employee, co-worker, as an operator.

Safety Precautions: Health and safety risk, Accidents due to chemicals, electric equipments, services, Consultation, ) Emergency Procedure, First Aid in Salon.

Climate & beauty: Beauty care in winter summer and rainy season.

Section-B

Chemical Treatment of Hair: Permanent waving Procedure with the knowledge of hair porosity. Beauty care tips for working women.

Classification of hair colouring: Application of temporary hair colour, semi-permanent, hair colour and permanent hair colour.

Counseling: Its meaning, process, importance & how to become counselor.
