二 Online Course Registration After the Semester Begins

Registration under the mentor’s advices: (please print related documents at “School admistration system” → “My document” → “provious registraion list” and click the print button at the bottom of the page to print the list.)

一、Date:June 15th, 2015to /July 9th,2015

二、We provide services for helping students to make a perfect academic plan, students can print out the “provious registraion list” online from July 12th, 2015and contact their mentors for advices. Without violating any related regulation of Soochow and their department, students can choose the best courses based on the assesment of their individual career planning and the advices of their metors’.

Course registration instructions: Please note that the online registration system cannot function properly on cell-phones.

一、Course information:

二、Online course registration after the semester begins.

(一)The result will be a random arrangement made by the computer rather than based on the sequences of the registration.

(二)There are two stages: “Professional Courses” and “Education program and Interdisciplinary Courses.”The maximum number of people allows to login simultaneously is 600,and each person should login with their own IP, and aftter 30 minutes the users will be logged out by the system automatically.

(三)Students can add or drop 8 courses (including PE) in total during each stage. Students can change their course registrations freely during the effective period. It is the latest registration made during the effective period will be adopted.

三、Manual course adding and dropping

  1. Students who cannot register specific courses online due to qualification discrepancies or shortage of the quota can contact related department to inquire related regulations about manual course adding and dropping.
  2. This service will be provided only if there are courses cannot be registered through the online system. Students should take the registration result list or check list which are signed by their department to the Registration and Curriculum Division for manual registration.
  3. Except for the manual registration of inter-collegiate course taking or the exchange student course taking, the manual registration will be out of service on 9/8, 9/9, 9/11~9/14.

四、The timetable of the manual course adding and dropping after semester begins is as below: The course registration result will be sent to you through email, please print out the “course registration result” for manual registration later. In order to avoid the system being jammed, please check the course registration result through email.

五、When the number of the registered student cannot reach the minimum standard for opening the course, the course might be unable to be opened, please note any related notice sent through your registered phone number or email address after course adding and dropping to modify your plan in time.

六、Please check about the schedule and content of the courses before you decide to take the courses and check about the result list after the registration have been finished. Students fail to so will be solely responsible for the consequence of their registration results.

七、And addition fee will be charged according to related regulations if the course needs to use the language room or computer room.. Information bout the tuition fee of Teacher Education courses will be showed on the website of Teacher Education Center

八、Students can inquire the courses information online, or go to the department office, library reading room, dormitory saloon, association offices, moral education center, or registration and Curriculum Division to check about the registration instructions. For dealing with any outstanding issues of this instruction please refer to “Soochow Registration Regulations”.

九、The course selection schedule for the 1st smester 2015..

(一)Initial selection: initial online course selection(6/15-7/9);checking the result from online ( from 7/13); instant online selection for the vacancy of the professional courses (7/20-7/25);instant online selection for the vacancy of the education courses and interdisciplinary courses (8/25-8/27),checking the result of the fee payment from online (8/10~9/25).

(二)The Adding and canceling courses phase (after the semester has begun): professional courses cancellation (9/8-9/9), Education courses and interdisciplinary courses selection(9/11-9/14).

Academic registration instructions:

一、Tuition fee:

(一)After the tuition and miscellaneous fee of the first or the second year the master’s or doctoralclass is paid (first to the third year for the law master’s students), other fees will be charged according to the regulation of the school. Students in master continuing education program smust prepay the credit fees of at least 6 credits for the first two years in advance (the law student of first three years).

(二)Please finish the payment with your bills before the expiration date on September 4th ( convenience store payment expiration date is on September 1st). Students haven’t received their bills can print out the bills online during August 1st~ September 25th, or at the cashier office after September 25.

二、Online registration: Students finishing their payment before(include) September 4th are applicable for online registrations.

三、Students can finish the payment at the appointed institutions if there is any reasonable delay of the payment. Student should check the information online and make sure the registration procedure is finished; if the procedure is not finished, please fill the late registration form from September 10th to September 11th, make the payment with the assistance of related banks, post offices, ATMs, or convenience stores, and then take the receipts and registration sheet to the Accounting Office to fix a seal before returning the registration sheet to the Registration and Curriculum Division.

四、From August 10th to September 25th, please check online whether the payment is complete. (the result will not come out until one work day later after the payment, payment finished through the convenient store system will not come out until three work days later)

五、Academic record:

(一)Students should finish the course registration according to related regulation (including the regulations on how many credit or semester is required to be taken). Students fail to do so will lose their academic records of the current semester.

(二)According to the art.7 of School Constitution, students should finish the course registrations and fees payments at the prescribed time in order to accomplish the academic registrations. Students who fail to do so will lose their academic records of the current semester, and they should apply for a leaving for absence or school withdraw.

Academic course selection

一.The procedure of the registration:

(一)Pre-registration: In order to simplify the process of course selection, all of the compulsory courses (for a whole academic year or a single semester) can be pre-registered and printed on the pre-registration list as a reference for the formal registration. Please add or cancel the courses according to the actual situation through online systems during the period of course selection. Students should not re-register the course if it is already on the pre-registration list.

(二)Registration under the mentor’s Date:June 15th, 2015to /July 9th,2015

  1. We provide services for helping students to make a perfect academic plan, students can print out the “provious registraion list” online from July 12th, 2015and contact their mentors for advices.   2. Students can go to the “School administration system” → “My document”→ “pre-registration list printing” and clicking the print button at the bottom of the page to print the list.

(三)The initial resgitration: please refer to the curriculum list online to select the courses you want to add or cancelAdding and canceling courses after the semester has started.

(四)Adding and Canceling courses after the semester has started:

  1. Canceling course can be registered directly online.
  2. There are two stages: “Professional Courses”and “Education program and Interdisciplinary Courses.”The maximum number of people allows to login simultaneously is 600,and each person should login with their own IP, and aftter 30 minutes the users will be logged out by the system automatically.   5. Please refer to the instructions on page 3 to learn the time table of the adding and canceling registration for different stages.

二.Notice:

(一)Please cancel the registration of courses you want to cancel before adding other courses according to schedule information on the registration curiculum list or curiculum selection list and instructions.

(二)Please add or cancel courses according to the course requirements of each department (refer to the online course selection and regulations).

(三)Doctoral or master’s students with the department's approval can select the master degree continuing educationprogram (the total credits should not exceed 1/3 of the graduation credits). Students of master continuing education program can select other courses outside the program (the total credits should not exceed 1/3 of the graduation credits).

(四)Doctoratal or master’s students can select related courses of other departments. Students must register their compulsury course of their own departments unless there is a schedule conflict and they have the department 's approval for registering their compulsury courses at other department.

(五)Doctoratal or master’s students who want to select the courses of other department must obtain the approval of both the original and the other departments. If it is a two-semesters couse and the registration of the first semester is approved, the second semester can be registered without the additional approval of the other department.

(六)The registration process for the third year (above or including)doctoral or master’s students who need to repeata course.

(七)Without specific regulations of their own department, Doctoral or master’s students must register at least one course (including thesis) per semester, and the maximun amount of credits the doctoral or master’s students should achieve is 20 points (including courses of all the programs).

(八)Students should comply with the regulations if there is any prerequisites or corequisites.

(九)The courses are divided into “compulsory” and “optional”. Compulsory courses that need to be repeated or taken in order to catch up on credits should be taken before others. Optional courses which have been grouped into a program must be taken under the instruction of the lecturers

(十)Please avoid selecting courses that create a schedule conflict (including the courses from the outer Shuangxi campus that are overlapping in schedule with courses from the Chengzhong campus and vice versa), the Office of Academic Affair will cancel the academic credits of one of the conflict courses if the student fail to do so.Registering a course that has the same title as the course one has studied and passed before is not allowed. The credit for this registered course will not be accepted.

(十一)The graduating students should check about their credits and make sure they have achieved all the required credits before graduation. The online inquiry website: Any questions about the graduation required credits please contact the registration division.

(十二)The first and the second year doctoral or master’s students (or the third year law students) will not be charged for the credit fee except when they register the education courses.

Registration Policy

Online registration

一.Those who are applicable and time table:

Regular students (including those who have applied for a loan and school privileges and relief, or those who has a balance in terms of the tuition payment after receiving scholarship for economically disadvantaged students) / The fee have to be paid before September 4th.(Renewal billings are not applicable for credit card payment)

Remark: Please refer to the instructions on page 19 for the policy on the payment delay.

二.Procedure:

The payment has to be made before (and including) September 4th with the help of the appointed authorities stated on the bills.

The payment result will be showed on the website from August 10th to September 25th.

Late registration

一.Description: The expiration date for paying fee for this semester is on September 4th (expiration date for making payment at the convenience store is on September 1st). If the registration procedure is not completed before September 9th, the system will be shut down to prevent anyone from adding or canceling courses. In order to assure your right for course registration and the accuracy of your bank or financial transfer information, please make sure that you finished the payment before the expiration date and remember to check the result online one work day after the payment (three work days if you pay at the convenience store).

二.Applicable students: Students who are not able to complete the payment processbefore (and including) September 9th due to particular reasons.

三.Period: September 10th ~ September 11th.

四.Procedures:Fill up the late registration form provided at Registration division and print out the bill at Accounting Office. Then, take the bill to the bank, post office, ATM, or convenience store to complete the payment. Finally, take the receipts and registration form to the Accounting Office to get the documents stamped before returning the registration form to the Registration division.
