Funding 2015/2016

Theme for funding this year is Youth Employability and Street Work. The employability pathway covers 5 stages to the pathway with the programmes from the HubCAP looking at stages 1 & 2 which are about supporting people into regular activities and connecting with others as well as increasing self awareness and developing life skills. All of which Youth Clubs and activities already provide.

Streetwork will continue like last year, however a paper will be submitted to SYA to tighten up on services provided and look at specific team of staff. Kirsty will update at next meeting.

The HubCAP only provides funding for Carmyle Youth Club, all other services are now funded through IGF.

Kirsty will in put funding for staffing costs for FUSE staff for Carmyle Youth Club for 15/16. As well as the staffing costs Denize will email additional costs for activities to help the first 2 stages of the employability pathway for the club.

IGF Funding –

Kirsty asked if all IGF funded projects were continuing next financial year within Bannerman HubCAP.

Debbie informed HubCAP that the Carmyle IGF funding has not been spent due to issues accessing venues within the area. Debbie has asked CPP if funding can be moved to the Barlanark Area (still within Bannerman Hub Area).

IGF funding for Garrowhill has not been fully spent. Fun Day like last years event at Garrowhill Park and Community Centre may go ahead again. Debbie also informed group that they are linking with Garrowhill CC to look at access to the centre on a Mon or Thurs.

Information Points

Nicola Boyle informed the group that information points will start up again in Bannerman Secondary School, as well as this there will be an information board for Youth Activities within the Library and Nicola will also attend Parents evenings to advertise Youth Services within the area.

Nicola will email HubCAP members for information points and parents evening dates, if your services wish to take part please reply to Nicola directly.

If you have any information to be displayed on the information board within the library please email Nicola details or hand information to Blairtummock House.

Chat N Chill sessions run in Bannerman school one day a week during lunch time. This is coordinated by Nicola, if any services would like to have an input at this session please contact Nicola direct.

Presentation was presented by Kaye Shearer NHS to highlight the impact of Female Genital Mutilation.

The national initiative is to provide support and information to families with young girls visiting their country of origin where the abuse is still practiced. Resources and Information can be found on the following link .

Kaye will present information at the next meeting on LGBT domestic Abuse.

AOCB

Nicola informed HubCAP members that there is a new school contact and she would like to attend HubCAP. Mary Smalls has been added to distribution list and will attend next meeting to discuss Bannerman High School’s Improvement Plan and Volunteering opportunities for Young People at School.

Lind McGlynn informed group that Youth Bank received Children in Need funding and are providing the following: Anti Bullying Workshops, Peer Education Programme and Under 12’s programme as part of funding.

Youth Bank will be launching a new service in May. Young People are working on the new shape and direction of the service over next couple of months.

Youth Bank will still support individuals and groups to apply for funding to enhance and benefit their opportunities.

Debbie raised again the question of the hubs merging together to reduce the amount of hubs services need to attend. Kirsty had no update on this and requested Debbie to bring this up at the next SYA meeting as this would be where this type of decision would be made.
