“Leading and Managing CEIAG in Schools”

A two-day course for recently-appointed heads of careers in the Eastern Region

Thursday 12 November

Wednesday 25 November 2015

HomertonCollege, Cambridge

David Andrews, CEG Consultant and Trainer

(formerly, Affiliated Lecturer, University of Cambridge Faculty of Education,

now, Visiting Fellow, Centre for Guidance Studies, University of Derby)

Recent changes in legislation have devolved greater responsibility to schools for careers work and have added tasks to the role of career s leader.

For 25 years, from 1987 to 2012, the Faculty of Education in Cambridge offered certificate courses for careers leaders in schools and from 1993 David was the course leader. Due to a change of strategic priorities at the Faculty, the courses closed at the end of 2011-12. To fill the gap, David now leadsa two-day, unaccredited course to help new and recently-appointed careers leaders get started in the role. The coursehas run successfully for the past three years and it will be offered again in the autumn term 2015. The cost will be £375 + VAT, which is inclusive of a two-course lunch and other refreshments.

There is plenty of on-site parking at HomertonCollege; alternatively delegates can choose to use the park-and-ride bus. The venue is also only a short walk from Cambridge station. Details of the programme for the two days can be found overleaf. To apply for a place on the course, please complete and return the booking form attached to the address shown (not to HomertonCollege).

If you have any questions about the course please e-mail David at:
