Tim thanked NORA & SMRT

Acknowledged the Twin State Seminar that was held at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in August.

Mentioned the Summer Outing – Portsmouth Harbor Cruises.

Spoke briefly about the NEHES Fall Conference; the educational slate, the networking opportunities & the gala reception.

Vice President Report: Greg D’Heilly

Greg said “Hello” to the group, indicating it’s good to get back to a regular meeting.

Tim indicated more to come on this, later in the meeting.

NEHES Report:Peter Girard:

Acknowledged that the NEHES Fall Conference was a success, well-attended, with many interesting speakers and topics.

Peter shared that NHSHFM will be hosting the 2016 NEHES Fall Conference, at the Mountain View Grand Hotel, in Whitefield, NH

Solicited ideas for Conference Educational topics. Anyone with suggestions can contact Peter.

Old Business:

Tim mentioned that he has not acquired insurance for NHSHFM, to date.

New Business:

- Tim addressed the vacancy in the Secretary position on the Board and nominated Robb Russman to fill the position for the interim. The group was asked if there were any other candidates. No other candidates were brought forward. A motion was made by Tim Bishop to vote Robb into the Office of Secretary. Peter Girard seconded. All present voted in favor, no one present voted against.

- A discussion was held regarding the schedule for the remainder of the calendar year.

November 13th - Meeting moved up to 2nd Friday in November

- Meeting will be at the New Hampshire Hospital Association Building, 125 Airport Road Concord, NH 03301

-Members are encouraged to bring suggestions for 2016 Educational Slate

December 11th - NHSHFM annual planning meeting

– Meeting will be held at the Puritan Back Room, 245 Hooksett Rd, Manchester, NH 03104

Advocacy regarding Codes & Compliance Issues

Utility Incentive Programs; What’s available & how to get them
Life Safety Emergency Management, Impact of New Life Safety Code
COMPASS Symposium; the Maine connection

Trends:

No new trends were discussed.

Survey Hot topics:

The NH Department of Health & Human Services conducted it’s Annual Life Safety Inspection at Riverwoods, this summer, since the last NHSHFM meeting. Beth Farrell was the Inspector. Her hot topics were; Proper sprinkler clearances in closets (18”), Proper operation and gaps of Fire-Rated Doors and Code-compliant RPT’s.

The topic of proposed new sill heights (36”) was brought up. No one had any specific information about whether this was going to become code or not. Some expressed concern about the large financial impact it could have, if it does.

Julie Sturgis mentioned having a visit from OSHA.

Marcel stated that he was told OSHA had been to Rivermeade, as well.

Remaining 2015 Educational Slate:

November 13th– ASHRAE 188 and Water Management (Meeting moved up to 2nd Friday in Nov)
