Word Study

NO WORD STUDY THIS WEEK

Everyone needs to read at least 20 minutes a night. We are trying to read books that are in the Lexile range. This is a range where your child reads more comfortably and can comprehend easier. It is a good idea to read a book at night, record it on your book log, and then take an AR test the next morning. Students should be at 50% of their AR goals by now. Some of us are not. Ask your child where they are on their goal and encourage them to READ. Writing on a Reading log every night is part of our nightly homework. The best way to increase your Lexile is to READ, READ, And READ!

We are collecting box tops again this year. Beginning in September, we will have a competition for the homeroom that collects the most box tops. The funds we receive from this collection help buy our students playground and PE equipment.
