Apart from these Ghate Foundation Trophy for the best performances were given. The problem for the preliminary round is prepared by Advocate Tejal Sharma. It is related to live in relationship which is very much common in metropolitan cities today. This kind of relation poses serious threat to the institution of marriage and family. It also raises questions about the legitimacy of children born out of such relationships, their rights of inheritance, status of the woman living in such relationship, alimony rights etc.

The problem for the Final round is drafted by Mrs. Bhagyashree Paranjpe – Godbole. It relates to Compulsory Voting. In a country like India which is one of the biggest democracies only 42% citizens actually vote. Can we then call our leaders, the true representatives of the people? Yet, if voting is made mandatory would it be violative of the Freedom of Speech and Expression of the Citizens? Can Government impose fine for not franchising their vote? Can negative voting be allowed? Student participants will be arguing on the above issues. The response to the Competition this year was overwhelming.
