Staff News

Miss Piper has resigned from her teaching post. We wish her the very best of luck for the future. We have advertised for a replacement teacher for September.

Bikes/ scooters

Please place bikes and scooters carefully into the bike shelters as we have had complaints from parents, children and staff that their own machines have been scratched when others are ‘thrown in’.

Also, please remind your children that they must wheel bikes and scooters down and up the drive in order to keep everyone safe.

End of Year Performances

As always there will be two opportunities to watch our end of year performance, ‘Treasure Island’. The first show will be on Tuesday 12th July at 9.15am and the second on Wednesday 13th July at 6pm. As all of the children in Key Stage 2 are part of the choir supporting the performance, it is vital that they please come back to school for the evening performance on the 13th.

The fair will take place this Saturday 25th June between 12 noon and 4pm and will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Coventry. Keep your fingers crossed for dry weather!

Please come along to support our fabulous FOLK group in this exciting event and to help to raise money to be spent on your wonderful children.

British Values Week

During this week there will be lots of exciting events happening in school as we celebrate ‘British Values’ and the Queen’s 90th birthday. The children will be painting commemorative plates, learning dances of the different decades and, this Friday 24thJune, we will all be dressing up as royals (past or present) or wearing red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. We will also be having a street party on the rear playground (weather permitting) and we are looking forward to a visit from ‘the queen’. This will mark the end of a week of ‘right royal’ celebrations.

Nursery

We are now registering children to join our Nursery in September this year. If your child will turn 4 years of age between 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017 please make sure you have put them onto our list. There are currently still places available for both morning and afternoon sessions. We promise you the best start to your child’s school career.

End of Year Payments

As we approach the end of the academic year, we need to ensure that all of our accounts are up to date. Please ensure that any outstanding dinner money or Breakfast Club payments are made in good time before we break up for the Summer holidays.

Toys

Increasing numbers of our younger children are bringing toys into school and these inevitably get lost or damaged. They also cause arguments between the children and distract from learning.

Please note that toys from home are not allowed in school unless you have been informed of a special event by the class teacher. Any that are brought into school from now on will be taken from the child and returned at the end of the school day.

Sports Mornings

Key Stage 1 and Reception class Sports Morning will be held next Monday 27th June and Key Stage 2 on Tuesday 28th June. As always, we are totally reliant on the weather being favourable and we will try our best to rearrange should the forecast look bleak .
