Motion (Maguire/Kronzer) to approve agenda dated March 28, 2107. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes – Faculty Senate Meeting 03-07-17
Motion (Maguire/Jones) to approve Faculty Senate minutes dated March 7, 2017. Motion carried with one abstention.

Receive Minutes – Faculty Senate Executive Meeting 02-14-17
Motion (Maguire/Gard) to receive Faculty Senate Exec minutes dated February 14,2017.

Chancellor

Provost
HLC Assurance argument has been submitted; anticipate a good review. HLC site visit is April 24th and 25th. Restructuring taking place in several areas. VSIP has been offered to 32 individuals on campus.

Faculty Senate Chair
Constitution ratification email will go out by the end of the week, Qualtrics link will be included. Cabinet will meet on the 29th.

Faculty Senate Secretary

Faculty Representative
Sloboda provided an update of the March 10 Faculty Rep and BOR meetings. Layoff and program discontinuation policies will be looked at next-BOR policy can be followed or campuses can create their own. Joint Finance Committee holding public hearings during April.

Faculty SPCT Representative
Written report provided by Danz, SPCT is looking at planning and action steps for the planning and budgeting process.

    Motion (Maguire/Jones) to receive the HBJD Academic Program Review as submitted by APRC. Motion carried.
  2. Supply Chain Management ConcentrationMotion (Maguire/Gard) to approve the School of Business and EconomicsSupply Chain Management within the Business Administration Program.Motion carried.
  3. Social Work Articulation Agreement with HCC
    Motion (Jones/Simpson) to approve the Articulation Agreement for transfer of credits between the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) Bachelor of Science in Social Work Degree and the Hibbing Community College (HCC) Associate of Arts Degree. Motion carried.
  4. Social Work Articulation Agreement with MRCTC
    Motion (Gard/Maguire) to approve the Social Work Articulation Agreement with Mesabi Range Community and Technical College (MRCTC) (with emphases in either Human Services or Chemical Dependency) and the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS)
    Bachelor of Science of Social Degree Work. Motion carried.
  5. Social Work Articulation Agreement with FDL
    Motion (Christensen/Jones) to approve the Social Work Articulation Agreement with
    the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) Bachelor of Science in Social Work Degree and the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDL) Associate of Arts Degree.
    Motion carried.
  6. Pre-Music Therapy Certificate
    Motion (Jones/Maguire) to approve the Pre-Music Therapy Certificate.
    Motion carried.
  7. Environmental Science Major Proposal
    Process discussion took place. These three items are part of the Innovation Grants.
    BOR must approve majors.
    Motion (Cuzzo/Sloboda) to refer the Environmental Science Major Proposal directly to PBC for expedited review. Motion carried.
  8. Environmental Studies Major Proposal
    Motion (Cuzzo/Sloboda) to refer the Environmental Studies Major Proposal directly to PBC for expedited review. Motion carried.
  9. Environmental Studies Minor Proposal
    Motion (Cuzzo/Sloboda) to refer the Environmental Studies Minor Proposal directly to PBC for expedited review. Motion carried.
