Description of job role - a typical day in the life e.g. / Subsea Project Engineer
•To provide assistance with the organisation and co-ordination of the technical aspects required by the project managers
•Attending SIT’s and preparing detailed reports
  • Making offshore site visits as required

Overview Description / To support the Senior Project Engineer with the technical and day to day organisational duties as required by vessel and ROV Project Managers
•Responsible to deliver packages of work for engineering activities and technical assurance as agreed with the project manager.
•Develop and co-ordinate Subsea designs and deliverables for various work packages including work associated with feasibility, conceptual and front end engineering studies.
•Responsible for planning engineering activities within the overall project schedule, ensuring all activities and/or deliverables are identified.
•Prepare and co-ordinate CTR’s (or similar), and report progress in line with project procedures and develop project schedules.
•General support to the project manager on project issues resulting in the timely delivery and execution of the project.
•Assist the project manager with planning and resource allocation to meet project goals and objectives.
•Monitor and control the project budget and schedule in order to ensure targets are met.
•To be fully familiar with all technical content of contracts within area of responsibility.
•To work and communicate with all parties involved, in the operational performance of the project/s within area of responsibility.
•To identify and advise the project manager of all technical issues pertinent to the Subsea engineering and intervention tooling performance of the project.
•To produce/record/file reports and procedures for the project manager as deemed necessary. This would include, but not be limited to, reports on:

•Records of operation meetings involving engineering
•Weekly status reports on Subsea engineering and intervention tooling issues
•Ad hoc status reports on Subsea engineering and intervention tooling issues
•Health & Safety and QA issues
•Technical and operational procedures as required within contract

•Visit operational sites (onshore and offshore) on an ad hoc basis at critical/key project milestones as agreed with the project manager.
•Maintain a close liaison with the project manager, and other parties as agreed with the project manager.
•To assist project manager in ensuring all Subsea engineering and intervention tooling equipment and consumables selected are suitable and fit for purpose.
•Any other tasks pertinent to the successful performance of the Contract that the project manager deems necessary.
•Any other mutually agreeable activities within the scope and capabilities of the individual.
Reports to the Senior Project Engineer
Future career progression can lead to supervisory positions or other technical positions.
Technical skills required / ESSENTIAL
  • Mechanical / Hydraulic background
  • Project Management experience
DESIRABLE
  • Previous Project Engineering experience

Safety awareness / ESSENTIAL
  • To be Safety aware to include, awareness of legislation, Company Safety Management System and knowledge of own role and responsibilities and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines as set out
DESIRABLE
  • Previous experience with risk assessments
  • Previous experience with safe systems of work

Qualifications / ESSENTIAL
  • A nationally recognised Engineering qualification
DESIRABLE
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Project Management qualifications

The work location / This role is office based in Aberdeen
Hours of work / Hours of work are 830am to 5 pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hrs per week)
Salary band / Circa £30K+ depending on experienceplus benefits.
