Molecular Rebar

Hi xxx,

It is nice to hear from you again! We currently have one position available and are looking to hire 3 individuals in this role. The openings are for line operators in our Molecular Rebar pilot plant, which produces wetcake and liquid dispersion from dry carbon nanotube feedstock. It is not a chemical engineering position but is a great way to get your foot in the door of an innovative startup in the nanotechnology field working in a pilot scale process plant. The operator position requires an individual who is a quick learner, careful, reliable, and mechanically inclined. Unfortunately I do not know the exact details of the pay structure at the plant but I believe it starts in the $40k range and tops out in the $60k range with regular opportunities for advancement. I have attached the job description for your reference. If you are interested in applying, please send me your cover letter and resume and I will hand it to the operations team lead personally.

Congratulations again on your upcoming graduation!

Best Wishes,

Catherine McCarrell

Dear Students,

Our alumnus Andrew Hernandez of the Class of 2013 gave me a tour yesterday of theimpressiveHarris Global Innovation Center/Technology Expo. Many of the Harris engineers I met there asked me to encourage you to apply for internship positions at their company. Their website many such positions in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Environmental/Health/Safety, etc., where our Chemical Engineering students have done a great job before, in Harris and elsewhere.

If interested in a summer internship, these are some good opportunities to consider.

Best wishes,

Prof. ManolisTomadakis

Manolis and Jim,

It was good to see both of you last week. Below is the link for internship opportunities at Amgen. You'll see that students can search opportunities at multiple locations within the company. If there is something of interest in the device technologies/engineering space I should be able to help if they reach out to me directly in coordination with their submission. Although I've left that group I can always make a call and help make sure their application is considered. It's far from a guarantee, but it at least helps them stand out from the hundreds of submissions we receive.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Natalia Larrea, and I am the President of the NASA Academy Alumni Association (NAAA). The NAAA is an organization composed of nearly 1,000 former students who participated in the NASA Academy program.

The NASA Academy is a premier internship program offered by NASA with the main goal of training future leaders of the space sector. The summer research program attracts undergraduate and graduate students of various backgrounds, mostly in STEM fields. More detailed information about the Academy can be found on theNASA Educationwebsite.

I believe that the students at your university are great examples of leaders whose interests may very well align with the opportunities provided by NASA. Applications for the NASA Academy program just opened onNASA OSSIand can be found by going to the Search Opportunities window and searching for the keyword Academy. The application deadline is March 1st[K5], 2018.

I was hoping you may be able to help promote the NASA Academy program to your undergraduate and graduate students who are currently pursuing STEM degrees by emailing this information to them.

Thank you very much in advance for your time. Should you need further information, please let me know.

Best regards,

Natalia Larrea
