Textbook:CALCULUS: Early Transcendental Version (10th edition) by Anton, Bivens & Davis

Prerequisites: MAC 2312 Calculus II with a “C” or better

Exams: There will be three in-class tests and a final. There will be NO make-up tests. You must have a documented medical, professional, or religious reason or family emergency to be excused from a test. If you are excused from a test, the percentage of your grade will be made up on the final. Once you have started taking a test, you cannot be excused from the test. The tests will be announced in class at least a week in advance. You may not be excused from the final.

Quizzes: There will be five in-class quizzes. The dates will be announced in class at least a week in advance.

Homework: a list of suggested homework problems is attached in the end. Although homework will not be collected for grading, it is essential to the course and assessment.

Chapter 13: Partial Derivatives

Chapter 14:Multiple Integration

Basic sections are: 14.1 to 14.8.

Chapter 15: Topics in Vector Calculus

Basic sections are: 15.1 to 15.6

Grade:

Grade will be based on the following:

  1. Midterms: 60%
  2. Final : 30%
  3. Quizzes: 10%

Your final grade will be based on your percentage of the total available points.

If you wish to have a test regraded, you must contact me within one week of the day when I return the tests to the class.

Important Dates:

  1. Final exam: 12/8, 12:00-2:00pm in PC 213
  2. Estimates of test dates: #1 on 09/27, #2 on 10/27, #3 on 11/24
  3. Estimates of the quiz dates: will be announced one week in class one week in advance.
  4. Last day for withdrawal with DR/WI grade: 10/31.
