Louisiana College Commencement May 17, 2014

March 26 Grad Fair: Order your cap and gown from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. IN THE FORMAL LOUNGE IN GRANBERRY CONFERENCE CENTER. If you are unable to attend the Grad Fair, you MUST contact Carla in the bookstore at 318-487-7634 to order your cap and gown.

March 28 Last date for ordering caps and gowns

March - April Check with Student Life for completion of spiritual & cultural requirements. Check with the Business Office and the Library to clear any financial obligations. Degrees will not be awarded for those students who have not completed the spiritual & cultural requirements. DIPLOMAS will not be given to students who have not cleared all financial and/or library obligations.

Students with a Stafford Loan or a Bunch Loan must attend an exit interview with financial aid. If you have not done so, please contact the Financial Aid office. All short-term loan repayment plans must be completed with Business Affairs.

August candidates for graduation should make arrangements with the Registrar’s Office for receiving their diplomas. Candidates who have previously participated in Commencement exercises must request permission from the Registrar’s Office to take part in the exercises again.

May 1 - May 17 Caps and gowns may be picked up at the Bookstore from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Payment is due when the cap and gown are picked up. (The fee should be around $55.00).

April 28 – May 9 Pick up TICKETS for graduation in the Office of Academic Affairs. Tickets are required for those attending the ceremony.

May 14, 12:00 Noon All grades are due. This includes correspondence course grades and removal of all incomplete grades--ALL GRADES. See that all your work is complete so that your teachers can turn in your grades on time to the Registrar's Office. If you find that you cannot complete your work, notify the Registrar's Office immediately.

May 17, 8:00 a.m. Brunch honoring seniors and their immediate family (parents, grandparents and siblings) in the Granberry Conference Center of the Hixson Student Center.

May 17, 9:15 a.m. Line up for Commencement. Meet in the lower hallways of Guinn Auditorium.

May 17, 10:00 a.m. Commencement Exercises--ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL CANDIDATES FOR DEGREES—May 2014 and August 2014.

Exceptions will be made only for extenuating circumstances. No excuse will be granted without permission from the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Candidates who have previously participated in Commencement exercises must request permission from the Registrar's Office to take part in the exercises again.

Dress All candidates are required to be present in academic attire (caps and gowns). Men should wear white shirts with dark ties, dark pants, and black shoes; women should wear simple dresses with dark shoes. The tassel should be worn on the left side at all times. Please do not decorate your cap! Men should remove their caps for prayer only.

Unless appropriate attire is worn, you will not be allowed to participate in commencement.

Special Note: Louisiana College does not have a nursery.
